OVERVIEW hosted by Rick Overton (self claiming "Imperfectionist") is a conversation with brilliantly creative people and will delve into the mechanics of their craft in a fun and engaging hour. Whether tackling global issues or personal, the talk will be good! Laughs and insights are the goal, and OVERVIEW will bring it!
This week on Overview, I get to talk with the very smart and very funny Camilla Cleese. she did set list in Santa Barbara and killed! We talked about that, what it's like to do comedy when her father is the amazing John Cleese. She takes her well-deserved place in the art form. Check it out
This week, old comedy buddy Greg Travis and I cover the early days of the comedy boom, doing acting and making your own projects. His latests film MIDLIFE is on iTunes now
This week on Overview, my guest is the Script Whisperer, Pilar Alessandra. She is the director of the writing program On The Page and hosts the podcast of the same name. She's trained writers at ABC, CBS, Nickelodeon and UCLA. All you aspiring writers check this one out!
One of the BEST
I have LOVED Rick since I first saw his stand up and movie/TV appearances. He dives into the lives of everyone he speaks to and brings out nothing but the best in them. It is such a joy and so refreshing to hear his wisdom and opinions. Keep up the GREAT work!
Overton is an incredible host and his voice is like a perfectly brewed cup of tea for the ears.
Come for the funny, stay for the insights.
I'm editing my review because it didn't say enough good stuff about it. The episode with Henry Rollins is so rich with mental stimulation. Learned about Kyle Cease from listening & am starting to really love life more fully. You've gotta listen to the episode with Dom Irrera & Robin Williams, I've re-listened to that one several times. My only negative comment is that he doesn't put out enough of them. But it's the old "Quality vs. Quantity" I guess.
If you like intelligent people talking about humor, the process of making great comedy along with insights on life & how to live it fully, you'll love this. I'm kinda biased because I've seen Rick be really funny & he's always been great at sharing ideas & comments on life. The rapport he has with his guests makes for an opportunity to laugh, think & maybe look at things in a different light. So come for the funny, stay for the intellectual stimulation.
