Fun, Informative, Good for What Ails You

I love this podcast for three main reasons:

1. The Wine Info: While I understand that there’s no real obligation as an adult to either enjoy or know anything about wine, the subject is something I’ve grown more curious about as I’ve crept into my 20s. The wine discussion in this show - particularly in my favorite episodes, the Middle Earth/Old World Wines series - have really opened my eyes to the scope, the culture, and the quirks of this culture.

2. The Media Talk: Aside from the wine talk, the baseline for this show is discussions of different forms of media by the hosts and their guests. Without much agenda or debate, these are largely easygoing and fun to listen to, with participants focusing on what they love about a variety of properties, from the blockbuster MCU to lesser known gems like Garth Nix’s Old Kingdom series.

3. Just Good on the Brain: As someone who sometimes experiences just random spikes of anxiety, this show is just really nice to have on tap. The generally low-key discussions of people’s special interests, combined with the wine lessons, make for an easy and comfortable listening experience that really helps with the nerves.

Overall great show for wine, pop culture, and chilling out.

Beer Snob Turned Wino

I know absolutely nothing about wine -- but with Emma and Winston's help, I'm learning more every day!

I'm your friendly, neighborhood beer snob. I used to drink nothing but craft beer and complain about how hard it is to find good beer for cheap. Now I'm walking home from the grocery store every week with at least 1 bottle of wine! Not to mention, hearing Emma talk about Kill Bill (a movie I didn't like or understand a few years ago) has made me want to try watching it again!

These two are cute, sweet, and so happy to be here and I love it!

That Dracula episode

Talk about death of the author.
Although the hosts were engaging and enthusiastic (and their wine choice was excellent) they rely too heavily on applying modern ideas onto a piece of pulpy gothic literature.
The male host relies so heavily on the 1992 film that one almost thinks he never read the book (for example, Dracula is never written as a tragic character and his interactions with Mina are limited to him attacking her - although said host mentions Dracula as being the only character that regards Mina as a person, a plot point clearly developed in the film but completely absent in the book).
Although I was hoping to enjoy this podcast, I can’t say I’ll listen to it again.
