Past Time is a podcast that explores how we know what we know about the past. There's a special focus on the fossil record - it is hosted by two paleontologists - but delving into the story of the past isn't limited to dry bones. Today's paleontologists use techniques drawn from other sciences including Physics, Chemistry, Geology, and Biology to figure out what extinct animals were like and how they lived.

Whether you are just starting to learn about the amazing animals that have called this planet home, or you have been fascinated by fossils for a long time, we hope you will join us as we dig into past times.

Great for elementary school students

A bit silly. I would appreciate more science. This is geared to 5th graders. Contains sound effects, rim shots, loud background music which are all very distracting.

Warms to my mesozoic heart.

I've consumed all the paleontology/paleobiology podcasts on iTunes by now, and I have to say this one quickly became by favorite.

All of them are fantastic to be sure! But these guys are young, and they bring the heart and enthusiasm to the subject matter that can only be found in students. Sometimes they're a little heavy handed with the sound effects, but for the most part it's solid and adds to the overall experience. So far there hasn't been an episode I didn't thoroughly enjoy.
