T. S. Myers has a calling and passion for evangelism, teaching, preaching, and making disciples of Christ. He was called to be an evangelist at a young age and both he and his wife Kylie have a desire to make Christ’s name known. T. S. Myers studied Philosophy and Religion at Liberty University where he traveled and preached on YouthQuest. He received his MDiv and ThM from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC and is currently working on his PhD in Systematic Theology there as well. He has over 13 years of hands on ministry experience, 10 of which he worked directly with youth. In the last 6 years T. S. Myers has served as an ordained pastor. An Exceptional Calling: Taste and See | 1 Peter 1:22-2:3
In this message, T. S. Myers covers two problems people find in a broken world. First, those who are not Christians seek to love in order to be loved, or they seek to do something in order to get a certain result or be a certain way. Second, Christians, in their salvation know that only God can save them but often times seek present victories without his strength. As T. S. Myers takes us through 1 Peter 1:22-2:3 he shows us that we love not to be loved but because we are born again of God's gospel - this answers the first problem. To answer the second problem, the problem for Christians, he explains that it's not enough to depend on God for our initial salvation in order to gain victory over sins in our lives, but we must continue to feed on Christ and his gospel in order to nourish us in our salvation. An Exceptional Calling: SHARE | 1 Peter 1:1-9
Believers in Christ are a special people of God. In his series, An Exceptional Calling, T. S. Myers journeys verse by verse through 1 Peter. In this sermon, SHARE, Myers introduces the book with the question "What are you sharing in?" He explains that we can either share in the world or in Christ - but that we will start to look like what we share in. Here he outlines the first 9 verses with an acronym: SHARE. That is, S: our faith is SPECIAL; H: Our faith is rooted in HOPE; A: Our faith ANCHORS us; R: Our faith will bring God RENOWN in our suffering; and E: Our faith in Christ gives the the END at the beginning.
