Friends can either pull us away from God or draw us closer to Him. We have to ask ourselves, who do we surround ourselves with? While happiness is temporary and circumstantial, joy is something deeper, more meaningful, and long lasting.     Do you struggle to recognize your purpose, value or worth? Do you often measure these things by what others see in you or say about you?     If you’re a Christian or if you’ve spent time in Christian circles, you’re probably familiar with the phrase, “to be in this world, not of it”. Is Jesus asking His followers to be social outcasts, completely removed from the rest of society? In this episode, we tackle this controversial question and discuss the importance of finding balance in our Christian lives. We are to be actively engaged in our societies, engaged with the people in our surroundings, but not allow their values and mindset to influence us.     For most people, Christmas is a special time to rest, reconnect, and recharge for a new year. But, there’s a lot more to Christmas than holiday parties, gift giving, and catching up on sleep. In this podcast, we discuss how, when you strip away all the extras, Christmas is really about hope. In fact, Christmas is not just a story of hope, it IS hope because the birth of Christ is the start of God’s plan to redeem and restore us to Himself. Christmas is part of a bigger story of God’s love for us and His desire to have relationship with us and help us to find our purpose again.
