PDC's PHILLY DRAMACAST - The Philadelphia Dramatists Centre's new Philly DramaCast stars the playwrights, actors, and producers of the Greater Philadelphia area in ten-minute short plays, complete with music and sound effects all done by local artists.

    13. Guilty Until Proven Innocent by Gil Sokolow (Rerun)

    In memory of the late Gil Sokolow, we are re-aring his Philly DramaCast episode “Guilty Until Proven Innocent.” In this show, two cops are guarding a prisoner before his trial. But there’s a group of people right outside, ready to take justice into their own hands. Tonight’s players are Vinny Ali as Deputy Percy Pruett, Ian Agnew as Deputy  Bobby-Joe, Michael Russo as Gordon Gann, and Jeff Hunsicker as Frank. And now, it’s time for the show. We open on reflections of an infamous  incident that occurred in August of 1915, in Milledgeville, Georgia...     “Zombie Chicken: A Love Story,” by Robin Rodriguez. In this show, Kari’s pitching a documentary based on the trials and tribulations of her client...a zombie chicken looking for love. And Kari’s looking for someone to play the male lead. Tonight’s players are Sarah McWilliams as Kari, Jeff Hunsicker as Cornwell, and Shelli Pentimall Bookler as the Zombie Chicken. A quick warning before we begin, this show contains violence, sexual content, and a reference to sexual abuse of a minor. And now, it’s time for the show.     16. For the Parts by William Burrisson & The Butcher of Treblinka by Daniel Wolf

    “For the Parts,” by William Burrison. William’s  particularly interested in horror and poetry, and wrote a piece that  capitalizes on both; where a daughter loses her father in the worst  way.  "For the Parts'" players are Marjorie Bicknell as the Narrator and Keenya Jackson as the Daughter. And now, it’s time for the show. We open at a family’s home… “The  Butcher of Treblinka” by Daniel Wolf. In this play, Moishe’s attending  the bris of his grandson and realizes he recognizes the mohel…as a Nazi  official from the Treblinka extermination camp back in World War II.  "THe  Butcher of Treblinka's" players are Jay Steinberg as Moishe, Stephen  Medevick as Lenny, Carol Moog as Moishe’s sister Ceil, and Jim Fryer as  the Mohel, with additional voices by Adrian Bridges.  And now we open on a bris… “For  the Parts” was performed and recorded, and presented with permission of  the author at the Spruce Hill Community Association back in 2018. Can she find her way to Happily Ever After before Christmas Day? Tonight’s players are Donna Stuccio as Charlotte, Joshua Jones as Andrew, and Stephen Medvidick as The Porter.     “No Excuses for the Finnegan,” by Mitchell Maltenfort. In this show, journalist Harlan Hitchens can’t make it big as a writer, so he’ll have to settle for fame as a superhero who can go anywhere in the world in the blink of an eye. But where did his powers come from…and where are his powers going. Tonight’s players are Vinny Ali as Harlan Hitchens and The Finnegan, Sarah Pardys as Gail Parker, Shelli Pentimall Bookler as Christine Ellison, Demon 2 and Fire Victim 2, Jeff Hunsicker as Dogface and Everett Ellison, Joshua Jones as Person in Dark Suit, Fire Victim 3, and Pundit 1, and Adrian Bridges as Fire Victim 1 and Pundit 2.
