Peace Interrupted

For someone who suffered silently for years, I can say that this podcast provides valuable insight into the complexities of abuse. The story of Sarah is a very realistic picture of what abuse can look like. It is a gradual, confusing cycle of control, manipulation, and oppression. The constant and unpredictable mistreatment slowly erodes away at your personhood until you almost feel erased. And then there is the misunderstanding that many women have that the Lord cares more about their marriage and about her as his precious daughter. The truth is that God hates violence and oppressors. His heart is for those that are hurting and heartbroken. The many expert interviews add depth and understanding to Sarah‘s story and abuse in general. Every member of the body should be aware of the dynamics of abuse and how they can protect their dear sisters from oppression. The church needs this resource, so I hope many take the time to listen. I’ve shared it with several others who are also passing it along.
