This program is designed to educate and inform all citizens of the city of Pelham as to the actions taken by the leadership, and to pull the curtain back on how decisions are made internally that affect our entire community.

    Episode 14 - June 15th and June 18th City Council Work Session and Council Meeting

    Episode 14 of the Pelham Perspectives Podcast is live. In this episode we will recap the June 15th Pelham City Council Work Session and the June 18th Pelham City Council Meeting. We will discussion the ongoing debate about the new development on state park road and varied opinions shared by our council members, Quiktrip attempting another try at going in on Hwy 52 at Racquet Club Drive, shifting additional funds from other areas of the city budget to cover the additional costs of turfing the baseball fields and putting up new fencing around the fields and much more!!     Episode 13 - May 18th and 21st Council Work Session and Meeting, June 1st Work Session

    On episode 12 of Pelham Perspectives, we will recap the May 4th Pelham City Council Work Session, the May 5th School Board Interviews, and the May 7th Pelham City Council Meeting.     Episode 11 - April 20th City Council Work Session & April 23rd Council Meeting

    On Episode 11 of Pelham Perspectives, we will recap the April 20th Pelham City Council Work Session and the April 23rd Pelham City Council Meeting. Highlights of our discussion include the decision by the council to reduce the city reserves (the savings account) from approximately 31 million dollars (3 Million to phase 2 of the ballpark renovations, 2 million to the flyover project, and the remainder to other pending capital projects) to 24 million dollars. This remaining reserves balance was reported by the city manager to be just over 4 months of expenses left in reserves. They also discussed the new process on how they are going to interview and decide on the next school board member, the BEAT painting a new America's 250 Mural on the Civic Complex and much more. The interviews for the school board will be held in the city council chambers on May 5th at 5:30 pm.     Episode 10 - City Council Work Session and Meeting - April 6, 2026

    In episode 10 of Pelham Perspectives, we will recap the April 6, 2026 Work Session and the items that we approval in the following City Council Meeting later that week. Highlights include recommended changes to the water/sewer leak adjustment policy, Consideration of Phase 2 of the ballpark renovations estimated at an additional 3 million dollars and the lack of funds without dipping into city reserves and potentially compromising our AAA credit rating and the concerns David had expressed when he was serving on the council, continuing our relationship with WBRC and the staycation advertising campaign, spending $21,000 to recruit and hire a communications director for the city, and much more.
