    It’s a new season of Pending Ratification! In episode 1 of season 3, co-hosts Keenan Gray and Maddie Mooney catch up with reigning USATF steeplechase champion Lexy Halladay-Lowry. The former BYU standout and current Nike Swoosh TC athlete shares what life has been like transitioning from a collegiate athlete on an incredibly tight-knit team to a professional athlete. Then, Halladay-Lowry dives into challenges faced by women in the sport and offers keen insights on how she and her teammates train. In addition, Halladay-Lowry discusses the importance of community and hobbies, the need for balance between training and life off the track, how every race is a milestone in her journey, and looks ahead to the heart of the 2026 season and beyond. In 2025, Halladay-Lowry had a banner season, running a new personal best in the 3000m steeplechase of 9:08.68, claimed second place in the steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, and won her first national title at the USATF Outdoor Championships. At the World Athletics Championships, Halladay-Lowry qualified for the steeplechase final and finished 14th overall.     From a small town in Borden, Saskatchewan, Savannah Sutherland arrived at the University of Michigan with big dreams — and left as one of the greatest collegiate hurdlers in history. In this episode of Pending Raftification, host Keenan Gray talks with the Olympian and 2025 Bowerman Finalist. The two dive deep into Sutherland’s journey in the sport from a small town in Canada to competing at the highest levels. They then break down her eye-opening performance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, where Sutherland broke Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone’s collegiate 400m hurdle record, crossing the finish in 52.49, which also made her the ninth fastest 400m hurdler in history. Sutherland goes on to share insights on the importance of community in her athletic career, her experience representing both Canada and the University of Michigan, and her future goals, both on and off the track. Note: In early 2026, Sutherland’s brother Cole was seriously injured in a work accident.
