It’s a new season of Pending Ratification! In episode 1 of season 3, co-hosts Keenan Gray and Maddie Mooney catch up with reigning USATF steeplechase champion Lexy Halladay-Lowry. The former BYU standout and current Nike Swoosh TC athlete shares what life has been like transitioning from a collegiate athlete on an incredibly tight-knit team to a professional athlete. Then, Halladay-Lowry dives into challenges faced by women in the sport and offers keen insights on how she and her teammates train. In addition, Halladay-Lowry discusses the importance of community and hobbies, the need for balance between training and life off the track, how every race is a milestone in her journey, and looks ahead to the heart of the 2026 season and beyond. In 2025, Halladay-Lowry had a banner season, running a new personal best in the 3000m steeplechase of 9:08.68, claimed second place in the steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, and won her first national title at the USATF Outdoor Championships. At the World Athletics Championships, Halladay-Lowry qualified for the steeplechase final and finished 14th overall.
