People Pleasers: Decrease Your Tolerance for Bad Behavior

If this resonated with you, send me a message here! Are you constantly giving people the benefit of the doubt, making excuses for their behavior, or tolerating things that leave you feeling drained, unseen, and resentful? As recovering people pleasers, many of us have been conditioned to prioritize keeping the peace over honoring ourselves. We become so understanding, accommodating, and forgiving that we end up accepting behavior and situations that slowly erode our self-respect and well-being. In this episode of Self-Healing with KB, I explore why people pleasers tend to tolerate far more than they should, the hidden costs of over-tolerating unhealthy behaviors, and how lowering your threshold for what you accept can dramatically improve your relationships, self-worth, and quality of life. I also share personal examples from my own journey as a recovering people pleaser and the lessons I learned from tolerating things that should have been addressed much sooner. In this episode, you'll learn: • What tolerations are and why they matter • Why people pleasers often accept too much for too long • The hidden emotional, mental, and relational costs of over-tolerating • The difference between being patient and abandoning yourself • How healthier self-worth naturally lowers your tolerance for unhealthy behavior • Practical questions to help identify what you're currently tolerating Remember, one of the greatest acts of self-love is refusing to tolerate what consistently diminishes your peace, self-respect, and well-being. The healthier your self-worth becomes, the lower your threshold for accepting what doesn't honor who you are. 💖 If this episode resonates with you, please like, subscribe, and share it with someone who may need this message today. Your Worth is Non-Negotiable - Reclaim what they took away!

If this resonated with you, send me a message here! Have you ever believed your worth was tied to your accomplishments, your appearance, your bank account, your relationship status, or what other people think of you? If so, you're not alone. Many of us were conditioned to believe our worth depends on something outside of us. We learned to seek approval, chase validation, compare ourselves to others, and prove our worth through achievement, performance, or people-pleasing. Over time, our "worthiness cup" slowly drained, leaving us feeling not good enough, unlovable, unseen, or somehow less than. In this episode, we're diving deep into what self-worth really is, how it differs from self-esteem, why so many of us lose touch with our inherent value, and how to reclaim the worth that has been yours all along. You'll learn how childhood conditioning, comparison, rejection, and life experiences can distort the way we see ourselves—and how self-love helps us reconnect with the truth of who we are. If you've ever questioned what self-worth really is, where it comes from, and how build it or you've struggled with self-doubt, or felt like you had to earn love, respect, or belonging, this conversation is for you. Just a few things you'll learn... 💎 The difference between self-worth and self-esteem 🧠 How childhood experiences shape your sense of value ⚠️ The hidden ways we negotiate away our worth ❤️ Why your value is inherent, not earned 🌱 Practical steps to reclaim your worth and personal power This is a conversation I could have every week. It's THAT powerful.  Thank you for being here and always know, I BELIEVE IN YOU. What "Reclaiming Your Power" Looks Like in Real Life (with examples)

If this resonated with you, send me a message here! Many of us have spent years (even decades) giving our power away through people pleasing, over-giving, rescuing, fixing, chasing approval, and abandoning ourselves to keep others comfortable. It can be hard to imagine what being sturdy within ourselves sounds and looks like in real life. In this episode, we're exploring what it truly means to take your power back and how that transformation shows up in everyday life, relationships, decisions, boundaries, and self-worth. In this episode, you'll learn: ✨ How to recognize the subtle ways you may be giving your power away every day 🛑 Why setting boundaries is an act of self-respect, not selfishness 💖 How to stop making other people's emotions, reactions, and happiness your responsibility 🧭 The difference between seeking approval and trusting your own inner authority 🌱 Practical ways to choose yourself, honor your needs, and rebuild self-trust one decision at a time Reclaiming your power isn't about controlling others. It's about becoming less controllable by fear, guilt, rejection, manipulation, and the opinions of others. It's about remembering that your worth, peace, happiness, and identity were never meant to live in someone else's hands. It's time to come home to yourself. Learning to Trust Again After Betrayal: 10 Ways to Heal and Open Your Heart to Love

If this resonated with you, send me a message here! Learning to trust again after you've been hurt can feel like one of the hardest things you'll ever do. When someone breaks your trust, it's natural to become more guarded and cautious with your heart. But sometimes you can build walls so high that no one can reach you. Deep inside you long for deep connection again, but are petrified to let those walls down. In this episode, we're exploring how to rebuild trust after heartbreak, betrayal, and loss. You'll learn why trust is not about blindly believing in others, but about trusting yourself to recognize red flags, honor your boundaries, and make choices that support your well-being. We'll discuss the difference between healthy caution and emotional shutdown, how to identify trustworthy people through their actions rather than their words, and why true healing happens when you stop fearing pain and start trusting yourself to navigate it. You'll also learn: 🔑 Why self-trust is the foundation of all healthy relationships 🧭 The difference between fear and genuine intuition ⏳ Why trust should be earned gradually, not given all at once 🪞 How to separate past hurts from present relationships 🤝 The power of consistency in building healthy connections 🌱 How to take small emotional risks without losing yourself 💞 Why vulnerability is necessary for meaningful relationships 🛡️ How boundaries protect trust instead of preventing it Remember: Trust isn't believing you'll never get hurt again. Trust is knowing that if you do, you'll have the wisdom, self-respect, and courage to honor and hold yourself through it. 🦋 If this episode resonates with you, please like, subscribe, share with someone you love, and leave a comment or review to help more people discover the power of self-healing. 10 Things You're NOT Responsible For in Healthy Relationships

If this resonated with you, send me a message here! Do you feel responsible for keeping everyone happy? Are you carrying the emotional weight of your relationships while everyone else seems to get a free ride? Do you find yourself fixing, rescuing, over-giving, or sacrificing your own needs just to keep the peace? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this episode is for you. Many of us were taught that being loving means being responsible for everyone else. Their emotions. Their happiness. Their comfort. Their problems. Their reactions. But that's not love. That's self-abandonment. In this episode, we're diving into ten things that are NOT your responsibility in healthy relationships. We'll explore the difference between support and rescuing, kindness and people pleasing, empathy and emotional enmeshment. You'll learn how to stop carrying burdens that were never yours and start reclaiming your energy, peace, and personal power.  In this episode you'll learn: 💡 The difference between healthy support and unhealthy rescuing 🧠 Why managing other people's emotions creates anxiety, resentment, and codependent patterns 🚫 How to stop sacrificing your needs, boundaries, and well-being to keep the peace ❤️ Why you don't need to convince anyone of your worth, value, or lovability 🌱 The key signs of codependency and enmeshment and how to begin untangling yourself from both Remember, healthy relationships require two adults carrying their own emotional backpacks. You can care deeply about someone without carrying what belongs to them. Let's goooooo!! Mind Blown! My Audience Shares How THEY Regulate Their Nervous Systems

If this resonated with you, send me a message here! Maybe it's just me, but I am continually blown away by the wisdom that comes out of my listeners' mouths. In this conversation, I invited a few of my listeners to join me on stage to share their personal practices for regulating their nervous systems.  The Noom Vibe community is (in my opinion) the BEST, most positive and supportive crew in all the social spaces. In today's episode, you'll hear real people, sharing valuable tips and practices you can use today! You'll also learn: 🧠  How your nervous system influences how you think, feel, perceive, react, and heal  🚨  How your body prioritizes protection over growth when stuck in survival mode and how connection, creativity, healing, clear thinking, and emotional regulation take a back seat 🌞 How a dysregulated nervous system becomes more sensitive to stress. Just as a sunburn makes even a light touch painful, an activated nervous system can make minor stressors feel overwhelming. 💡 Why a regulated nervous system gives you access to your best self - clearer thinking, effective communication, better decision making and emotional regulation 🌱 Why nervous system regulation is the foundation of healing and why a safe body creates the space for self-healing practices to work more effectively and sustainably For FREE Resources, 📖 Book Link, 📝 Quizzes, 👚 Self-Love Merch Shop, 🗣️ 1:1 Mentoring and more: https://www.linktr.ee/kristenbrownauthor Thank you for being here! Why You Keep Tolerating Bad Behavior & How to Stop Being Mistreated For Good!

If this resonated with you, send me a message here! Do you find yourself making excuses for behavior that hurts you? Do you stay quiet to avoid someone's reaction, even when something feels wrong? Do you feel emotionally drained after certain interactions, yet keep showing up anyway? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may be tolerating mistreatment without even realizing it. In this episode, we're exploring why so many good, caring, empathetic people accept treatment they would never wish on someone they love. We'll discuss how childhood experiences, nervous system conditioning, and fear of disconnection can train us to ignore our own needs, dismiss our feelings, and remain in unhealthy dynamics far longer than we should. You'll learn: ✨ How your nervous system can mistake what's familiar for what's safe ✨ The difference between empathy and self-abandonment and how the "empathy trap" keeps people stuck ✨ Why boundaries often trigger pushback and why that doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong ✨ The hidden inner healing that occurs when you stop betraying yourself to keep others comfortable ✨ How choosing self-respect over approval transforms your relationships, self-worth, and sense of personal power This conversation is a reminder that healing isn't becoming cold, hard, or selfish. It's becoming unwilling to abandon yourself for the sake of connection. Because the moment you stop tolerating what hurts you, everything begins to change.
