    Ep 52 - Daunte Wright - Social Justice Wednesday

    I've been quiet about the killing of Daunte Wright because there is nothing new to say. All I have to hold on to is hope, as hard as it is, I encourage you to do the same. There are donations being raised for his girlfriend and son. There is bail money needed for protesters on the ground there. So what you feel led to do because as I always say #wecanalldosomething

    Ep 51 - My YaYa Sisters - Relationship Wednesday (Group Frienship)

    These are my Yaya sisters of 9 years now. There is something really special about doing friendship and life with a group of women. Lacie: 14 years as an Executive Admin at Kellogg’s & 20 years as a volunteer Chaplain for women’s prisons ministry using her own finances to bless the women while serving their terms and supporting them after their release. Single, mother of 2 grown children and grandmother of 2. Cathy: 14 years at McDonald's Corporation, starting in HR and now in commercial litigation in the legal department. Cat is extremely passionate about missions work and Mozambique has a special place in her heart, having been there 5 times. She is a single mother of 1 adult child with a grandchild coming this summer. Tina: Has worked for 33 & 1/2 years total for Illinois Government from States Attorney’s office, Chicago Mayor's office, Chicago Police Department, Chicago Family & Support Services. She is about to retire soon and hopefully will turn her amazing culinary skills as cook and a baker into a new business. Married for 13 years with 2 adult kids and 2 grandkids.

Tiffany from Newark, NJ - What’s been the best thing about doing the podcast year one?  ***Having the A-Ha moment during an interview and have the listeners sharing with me through email, direct message or text the A-Ha moment you had.    2. Leon from Jacksonville, FL - What’s your favorite Wednesday theme of the 4: Relationship, Social Justice, Empowerment, Wellness ***Wellness Wednesdays because it covers the whole self being well from emotional, physical, mental, spiritual. We sometimes focus just on 11-2 parts of our lives for wellness, but we have to look to be well as a whole.    3. Carla from Chicago - What’s in store for year 2 of the podcast? ***I'm finalizing that but what most likely will change is the themes and the frequency will probably go from weekly to biweekly.    4.  Ebony from Nashville - What’s the birthday plan for your 50th? ***I'll be celebrating in my hometown of Chicago. Not sure all the details yet but it will be a weekend of celebrating with a small group.   5.  Erika from Los Angeles - What’s on 3 things your bucket list for the next decade in your 50s? *** A) Traveling the world.     Ep 49 - Doug Hayes - Wellness Wednesday (Financial - Stock Market)

    Doug Hayes has always had a mindset of entrepreneurship and wealth building. He started his first business (a community newspaper called “Doug’s Monthly”) at 12 years old. Having always shown an interest with numbers and budgetary management, Doug pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Howard University, graduating in 1996. By the age of 23, he bought his first house and by 25 he was running his own successful limousine and sedan service in the Detroit, MI area. Doug invested in more real estate beginning in 2006, then in 2008 he saw many good companies substantially undervalued in the stock market because of the financial crisis. It was absolute panic so he took a chance on a few companies, knowing we would eventually come out of the recession and made a profit. He educated himself on investing in the stock market through continuous research and surrounding himself with other traders. He took control of his own 401K and established an IRA account by transferring old 401K’s into it. This gave him flexibility to use various strategies to yield better returns. Doug's own finances have seen highs and lows so he designed a budget system he calls The Roadmap to Financial Freedom. This system helped him to stay focused in paying down debt, saving money, and planning for an early retirement. Seeing an absence of financial literacy in our society coupled with his Christian roots, Doug developed a passion for helping others become successful in financial management. Through the experience he’s gained trading the stock market, he wants to help people develop a road map for building generational wealth. He says "many people have a misconception of the stock market because of their lack of knowledge, but it has proven to be the biggest wealth creator known to man." With Doug’s 20-plus years of experience in financial management, customer service and sales, he wants to educate and help people create a legacy that can be passed down for generations to come.     Ep 48 - Martine Harris - Empowerment Wednesday

    Martine Harris is the President and Co-Founder of the non profit, Travel & GIVE, and Author of Dear Haiti, You’re Not  Who They Think You Are. Since 2017, Martine has been recruiting volunteers to support  teachers in schools and provide hands-on-therapy for children  in orphanages presenting with congenital, physical, cognitive,  and mental disabilities in Haiti. Travel & GIVE has recently expanded to Nairobi, Kenya. In January of 2020, Martine released her first book, Dear Haiti,  You’re Not Who They Think You Are, which is a compilation of  her journal entries documenting her journey through the  awkward, controversial, humorous, and catastrophic events  while living in Haiti. Martine currently lives in Los Angeles, California where she  works as a Speech and Language Pathologist.
