Why Do I Get Sick? Why Do I Get Hurt?

Why Do I Get Sick? Why Do I Get Hurt?

NEW PERFORMERS HAPPINESS IN THE ARTS (PHARTS) PODCAST EPISODE 🩰🎬🎹🎭🎤

🎟 Topic - Why do you get sick? Why do you get hurt?

Oh, man, we rack our brains trying to figure out why we are sick or hurt all the time?

We are usually asking this question to find a reason to beat ourselves up for a body not working the way it needs to for a show.

What good is an explanation gonna do? The only person who really worries about the explanation is the person trying to heal you.

That’s the wrong question because it’s pointless to beat yourself up. Stress only delays your healing process.

If you are hurt, do the work to get better or if you are sick, rest so you can get better.

Our bodies are going to have ups and downs with health, that’s part of life unfortunately.

If you’re currently sick or hurt right now, hang in there. There will be light at the end of the tunnel.

When To Take A Break From Acting Class

When To Take A Break From Acting Class

NEW PERFORMERS HAPPINESS IN THE ARTS (PHARTS) PODCAST EPISODE 🩰🎬🎹🎭🎤

🎟 Topic - When to take a break from acting class

Figuring out when to be in class and especially when not to be in class for acting is not easy.

I have been very fortunate to work with great acting teachers, and with that, have become a regular from the teachers that have really helped me.

Choosing one to take a break is not easy because I have to differentiate between needing the time off and needing to continue working on my craft.

This also could be hard for many when it comes to a financial issue.

Quality acting classes are not cheap and I am a performer who doesn’t want to just spend money on an acting class just cause it’s an acting class.

I need to be in an acting class that is challenging, supportive, and surrounds me with great talent.

I don’t have major solutions to this. I just wanted to bring it up for discussion because it is a big deal to us performers.

NEW PERFORMERS HAPPINESS IN THE ARTS (PHARTS) PODCAST EPISODE 🩰🎬🎹🎭🎤

🎟 Topic - When to share you are auditioning

This is what each performer prefers.

In this podcast, I discuss while you would share or why you wouldn’t share.

It is really up to you, the musical theater performer.

You have to connect with what’s best for your personal mental health and act accordingly.

No one else’s opinion matters on this.

    You do you.

When Someone’s Injury Is Your Business

When Someone’s Injury Is Your Business

NEW PERFORMERS HAPPINESS IN THE ARTS (PHARTS) PODCAST EPISODE 🩰🎬🎹🎭🎤

🎟 Topic - When someone’s injury is your business

I’ve said this once and I’ll say it again: someone else’s injury is never your business.

    That’s his podcast.

If you wanna hear me talk about the matter even more, tune in.

But the whole purpose of the episode is to nail down that concept for every musical theater performer.

Every person has different health strengths and weaknesses. It is no one else’s business besides theirs.

If they choose to tell you about their health issues, it is still none of your business.

This is not just to protect other people… It is meant to protect you.

You are important and I want you to feel safe whenever you are struggling with your health in some manner.

No injured person deserves the added stress of someone else’s opinion on their health when they’re already suffering from something going wrong with their body.

What You Eat For Your Show

What You Eat For Your Show

NEW PERFORMERS HAPPINESS IN THE ARTS (PHARTS) PODCAST EPISODE 🩰🎬🎹🎭🎤

🎟 Topic - What you eat for your show

I’m talking about feeding your body and mind for the ultimate function you need for a show.

This makes a huge difference on what you are able to bring to the audience.

For me, if I eat a bowl of pasta, I’m ready to go to bed and minutes.

I actually did this for myself when I was sick not too long ago and I fell asleep like a snap of the fingers.

But what foods energize you? What foods calm down your emotions?

This podcast is to get you to start brainstorming on what foods help your body and mind work most optimally for the stage.
