I come to a soft consensus in my podcast mission statement and goals for you, the Philosophizing Audience!     At Philosaraphy the topics will range because our eclectic podcast taste! We figured arguing, debating, and laughing with ourselves in the car was fun enough to us so  it might be fun for others, too. Who are we to deny more thinking, listening, and communicating! At the very least, I hope to bring new podcasts to your feed and to strengthen your own philosophizing muscles.  The premise is this: we are constantly, like you, listening to podcasts - often in the car. Sometimes a show makes us think so much we have to pause the podcast and speak it out to ourselves to work through it. Yes, we also argue directly with the podcast when it's playing but that'd be harder to record and use. To that point, I did start recording my thoughtful meanderings. I pick a thought provoking question out of those word vomit recordings and bring on a guest to explore the topic more thoroughly.     Episode 6: In the Field - We vs. I Pt. 2

    Hello Philopsophers! Today we bring you a great conversation with an awesome guest: Ryan Nys! My cousin who is like a brother to me! We discuss the multiple ways the I can be brokedn down into the We through: communal vocabulary, governmental control, society types and structures, systems and individuals, education content, agriculture, capitalism, agriculture, greed and healthy self-interest, and even the wealth disparity. I give it a PG-13 for minor language and the references to Historical Violence. It's a lot for a half hour but we find it to be thought provoking and hope you find that too. Yes, I know Bill Gates is not the largest land holder in the U.S. I said he has, "a particularly large amount." Even not being close to the one who has the most he has a particularly large amount. Larger than I certainly could ever hope to attain. The point was to ignite a conversation about what is good and bad about that.     Episode 4: Perception Through Empowerment Pt.2

    We speak with Emily Simmons of Del Alma Journaling - a great guide on the journey to self empowerment. We discuss creating your own reality and the responsibility ones own perception, or perspective, has. It ends up in our Top 3/Top 5 lists of the most important thing in understanding our reality.     Episode 3: Perception through Empowerment Pt. 1

    We are so excited to bring to you our unfettered throughts. That sound after our long and drawn out "of" is an attempted drum roll on our laptop. They were inspired by: CNN's Poppy Harlow's, "Boss Files" podcast. One overall and a second that is what caused our echoing thoughts on the back and forth between words changing meaning and interpretation as well as fact affecting reality and definition, aka Perception. The episode was "Women and Self Worth with Sallie Krawcheck." They were discussing women at the executive level among other interesting topics. I really enjoy this podcast and as a small business owner have learned lots. At 7:42 Sallie states that she hate's the word empower. This conversation stops at 9 minutes.  Later in a different episode with, "Anne Finucane of Bank of America: Hippie Turned Investment Banker," the word Empower comes up again. In this case they hypothesize that perhaps there is a "confused context" surrounding the word because to her everyone deserves success and if empowerment is how they get there then that can't be wrong. I hope to discuss this idea of a "confused context," or dare I say: perceptional difference, with my guest when we record.     Episode 2: Need Vs Want to Know P.2

    We talk about ideas surrounding knowledge, education, and the flow of information. We breifly talk about how power dynamics influence these things and situations from our direct anecdotal life as well as on the broader scale. Harry Potter and Dumbledore's relationship is discussed as well as a trip to conspiracy land for a good run at the end. I'd give it a PG 13 rating for some content and language. If for some reason you haven't read Harry Potter yet then, spoiler alert ;) *I put an oral note in but I wanted to add a written one too. In the story I shared where my friend showed me a picture of a baby I had forgotten in the retelling that we recorded she had permission to take this photo. I may not have made it clear that there are no distinguishing marks of the patient, there are no identifying ways possible of connecting said photo to any person.* *In More Succinct Sarah I had original said, "Guest," and I was worried that it would be confusing.
