Picard means family. Picard means nobody gets left behind.

Picard's Not My Dad is an incredibly endearing podcast that capitalizes on a central fact of TNG fandom: people enjoyed the show's theme of family, and the Picard series is a retrospective on what family means. For anyone who grew up watching Star Trek: TNG with their parents, this podcast will help you explore the new Picard show in that context with a parent-child dynamic that is put on charming and vulnerable display. Another delightful aspect of the format is that while Dany Roth is a top-notch critic, the average person can only listen to a professional critic for so long before they start to get a little bit annoyed; Dany's father provides an excellent stand-in for the audience in this regard, pulling the professional criticism off its pedestal from time to time to remind us that this is a TV show and we're allowed to just have fun with it. Overall a great companion podcast and a delight to listen to.

A Great Podcast

Dany and his father have great insight not only into Jean-Luc Picard but also prestige genre television. This is a must listen and Dany and his dad are brilliant and hilarious.
