Mom Talks

Sarah Denton Pn2

Being a mom is a 24/7 job! And there are so many things moms aren't aware of when they enter motherhood. From body changes, hormones, postpartum depression, feeling self-conscious, overwhelmed, underprepared, exhaustion, midnight feedings, toddler tantrums, loss of self-identity, to relationship deterioration, this podcast is dedicated to all the moms who feel alone and misunderstood. Hi, my name is Sarah Denton. I'm a wife, a mom, a health and fitness coach, and a woman who has a deep passion to help uplift, encourage, and guide moms to be the best versions of themselves. I started a local walking group call Stroller Champions which allows me to meet and talk to mommas on a daily basis. And although the details of their stories are always their own, the feelings and emotions that they juggle and deal with are all the same. So while many moms feel alone, they actually have a huge support group around them that they are completely oblivious to! My goal is to interview women's health care providers, educators, counselors, and moms to allow them to share their expertise, their struggles, special circumstances, tips, and guidance in order to help combat the negative side-effects that all moms feel at some point or another. Like, Subscribe, and Share to help make motherhood matter and support moms around the world!

New Year 2020: Dreams DO Come True!

Wow! Can you believe we have just entered into a whole new DECADE?! It makes all those unattained New Year's resolutions from years past seem all too real. Wouldn't it be great to achieve your goals this year??? In this episode, I cover 5 Steps that, if followed, will ensure your success. What will you achieve this year? The sky is the limit! *For deeper discussion into each step, feel free to comment or email me at sarah@momtalkspodcast.com. I'd be happy to help! Step 1: Mindset: Keeping a clear, focused, and positive mindset is critical to achieve goals. Step 2: Start Where You Are Currently: let go of the past and expectations of what you used to be able to do. Get brutally honest with yourself in an objective way in order to determine where your journey actually begins and the steps that need to come next. Step 3: Break It Down: Take each goal and break it down into 3 monthly goals. Break your monthly goals down into 3 weekly goals. And lastly, break your weekly goals down into daily tasks. Although less exciting, the daily tasks completely consistently is where your success lies. Step 4: Write It Down: You can't measure what you don't track. Recording your tasks and goals will hold you accountable, and it will allows you to see your progress over time. Step 5) Do Something Every Single Day that Gets You Closer to Your Goal: Consistency is key, and even if you only get one goal oriented task done, you are one task closer to making your dreams come true! Bonus! Step 6) Give Yourself Grace! You will have bad days. You will have days where it feels like everything is working against you...the kids are sick, your dog got out, your hubby needs helps, your hair's a mess, etc. You are a MOM. Which means there will be many, many, MANY times that your needs and tasks have to be put aside to manage someone else's. It's critical for you to know that YOU are wonderful and amazing Every. Single. Day. Every day you begin with a new slate. So let go of what did/didn't get done yesterday, and focus on getting back on track today! Support the show
