    Billy Barker

    In episode 30 I have a yarn with mountain man, Billy Barker. Billy grew up in Western inland Sydney and later moved to the South Coast where he pursued his love for surfing. During this time Billy found himself doing winters in the snow, a path that’s taken him all over the world chasing steep lines and backcountry powder. From being a dish pig at the Hotham pub to becoming the director of ski patrol at Hotham ski resort, Billy also owns and operates a guiding business in the Himalayas and is a backcountry guide in Antarctica, working in some of the most intense mountain environments on earth. Now a Patagonia ambassador, he still spends most of the year in the mountains. It was great to have a yarn with Billy and hear the stories from the incredible life he’s lived and continues to live.     Kirk Bierke

    In episode 29 I catch up with master surfboard craftsman, Kirk Bierke. Kirk is a globally recognised surfboard shaper living with his family in Australia. Kirk’s journey into surfing started far from the coast, growing up in landlocked Wisconsin before his family pulled up stumps and moved to California. We chat about discovering surfing, how that passion led him into shaping, and his take on board design and how it’s evolved over time. Kirk also shares stories from living in Hawaii, the influence it had on his surfing and shaping, and his move to Australia where he now calls home. We get into the ups and downs along the way, what drives him, and how he’s stayed true to his own path.     Chayne Simpson

    In episode 28 I have a yarn with 2x world champion kneeboarder, Chayne Simpson. Chayne has taken the road less travelled, choosing one of the least recognised forms of riding waves, kneeboarding, which has earned him the nickname 'Neal'. We chat about what it’s like going against the grain of the stereotypical surfing path and taking it all the way to multiple world titles. He walks me through his craft as a sign writer and his journey of starting and running his own business, along with his career as a firefighter and some of the intense moments he’s experienced on the job. We also get into family life, marriage, and raising two frothing young boys. Chayne lives a seriously diverse life, juggling multiple trades alongside fatherhood and a deep love for surfing, and I was stoked to catch up and hear what’s been happening in the life of Neal.     Mick Malmo

Mick is a mural painter who specialises in large scale works, teaches visual arts at a high school, and spends his time surfing and working in the outdoors. In this episode, we dive into his experiences with childhood cancer, growing up alongside a sibling with a disability, his deep connection to nature, and how that influence shows up in his artwork, landscaping, and surfing.     Benny Serrano

    In episode 26 of Still Noise I have a conversation with the multi-talented Benny Serrano. In his younger days Benny was a professional fighter, claiming multiple Australian titles.  He currently is a musician, surfer, acupuncturist, and muscular correction specialist. Benny’s life has moved through some very different worlds; from the intensity and discipline of a combat sport to a deep interest in music, surfing, and the healing side of understanding the body. In this episode we talk about his career as a fighter, his relationship with the ocean, healing the body, and the experiences that have shaped the path he’s on today. Benny is an eccentric character and an absolute lunatic in the best way, but beneath the humour he is a cauldron of wisdom.     Helen Schettini

    In Episode 25 of Still Noise I catch up with Canadian snowboarder and former professional athlete, Helen Schettini. Starting out on skis as a teenager, Helen quickly fell in love with snowboarding and made the move to Whistler, where she began competing in halfpipe. But after a series of injuries, and some encouragement from close friends, she started looking beyond the patrolled runs and structured competition scene. Shifting her focus from contests to filming video parts, chasing storms, and riding big mountain lines far from the boundaries, Helen built a career in one of the most high-risk sports on earth. In this conversation, we talk about her transition from pipe walls to open faces and crevasses, the highs and lows of life as a professional athlete, near death experiences, and what it meant to eventually step away from the sport that defined her.     Pixie Bella

    In Episode 24 of Still Noise I take the podcast abroad to LA and catch up with Pixie Bella, or better known online as @pixpop. Pixie is an Australian photographer and content creator living and working in Los Angeles, California. Predominantly a fashion photographer, Pixie has shot for major brands including House of CB, Princess Polly, and White Fox, with her work featured on billboards across Los Angeles and beyond. Her career has also taken her to major music events like the iHeartRadio Festival and Camp Flog Gnaw, where she’s photographed artists such as Doja Cat, Tate McRae, Tyler The Creator, and A$AP Rocky. In this episode, we dive into her journey behind the lens, what it’s like stepping in front of it as a model and content creator, and how she went from life in Australia to building and running a successful photography business in America alongside her husband Jesse, the challenges that came with making that leap and so much more.
