Hopeful for more now that you’ve been unshackled from the Fed!?!

As yet another burned out physician with nothing other than thinly-veiled pharma-driven biased research to inform practice, I lose more and more hope every day for our field and our collective professional future and ability to truly help people as we all initially intended- in their best interest. Thank you for being a brave and eloquent voice in analyzing and calling out specific examples of the corruption they has so insidiously infiltrated our field. Awareness leads to knowledge, and knowledge leads to the power to change things to be more in line with the ethics most of us hold.

Essential listening early post-pandemic, a light in the storm. Carefully reasoned, well-cited, and occasionally feisty. I checked back after a long while of not listening and the good doctor has become snide and venomous. Most of the content was below the belt name calling with little focus on scientific reasoning. A shame. Good for grooming rage, not good for truthseeking.

There is a lot to be desired from our healthcare system and certainly we need to be questioning how we can better serve our patients. However, this growing hate sentiment toward NIH research and researchers by the host leaves a foul taste. It’s clear the host projects his own vendetta against his inability to gain such funding, under the premise that the NIH failed. Patients and their communities have benefited greatly from this work, it questions his credibility that he would be so dismissive of decades of progress and the backs of those who got us here. The podcast comes across more like a rant of grievances and lacks practical solutions for such healthcare shortcomings.
