Independent & Thriving: Stepping Into Womanhood w/ Isolde
Isolde is a military brat, daughter, sister, and friend. I met Isolde in middle school, and I have to admit I may not have been the best influence or role model when we were kids. So to get to reconnect with her now was a chance for us to laugh at the stupid things we did as kids and realize that we all do stupid things, but stupid things do not define us. We have a conversation about social anxiety and the hold it had on us a point in our lives that we were meant to be thriving. She also shares the differences that she has experienced between the Norwegian and American culture and how it has shaped her to be the woman she is today. This is her Dandelion story.
In this episode, we discuss:
How has social anxiety impacted her life
The stupid things we did in middle school
The difference between Norwegian and American culture
How she ended up in Belgium three times as a military brat

This is his story as a Dandelion.

Life Of A Class Clown: The Challenges Of Stepping Out Of The Cliche w/Josh
Josh is a military brat, brother, son, and friend. Josh and I met in middle school where we had Spanish class together and he quickly became the class clown. Every day he would come in with a new joke ready to go and make the whole classroom laugh. Soon after his move to Belgium he moved to Japan where he felt like he could be more of himself. The class clown had become a part of who he is. So he had to figure out how to change the narrative of what a class clown should be while figure out who he wanted to be moving forward. This is his story as a Dandelion.
In this episode I discuss:
Josh being the class clown
The challenges of stepping out of the class clown box
The multiple culture shocks he had growing up
The feeling of being an outcast in a new place
