    Pocomucho Daily — Friday 21 August 2026

Friday, August 21st, 2026. I'm your host Ben DMZ. From Ibiza, this is Pocomucho Daily. Skintown is a new feature film that puts rave culture at the centre of one of the most charged moments in recent Irish history — the summer of 1994, during The Troubles, in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland. Directed by Kieron J. Walsh and adapted from Ciarán McMenamin's 2018 novel, it follows two best friends, Vinny and Jonty, played by Jack Rowan and Chris, as they're drawn into the town's underground rave scene. The soundtrack features Carl Cox, Happy Mondays, Jeff Mills and more — and Cox has gone a step further, contributing previously unreleased music exclusively for the film. A rave film set against a ceasefire. That's a story worth telling. [STORY BREAK] Over to Rotterdam, where festival organisers are pushing back against proposed cuts to public funding. Rotterdam City Council put forward a €656,000 annual reduction to its cultural events budget back in July, and a petition has now been launched in opposition. Organisers say the cuts could have, in their words, "real consequences" for events across the city. Rotterdam has one of the more vibrant festival ecosystems in Europe, so this one is worth watching. [STORY BREAK] A new app called Seen Live is pitching itself as the Letterboxd for clubbing — a personal live music archive where you can log events you've attended, rate DJ sets, festivals and live shows, and share your experiences. It was founded by Jordan Taylor, who heads up club culture documentation platform Tough Luck. You can search for club nights and gigs, explore popular live performances, and document your nightlife history. DJs on star ratings. The crowd has entered the chat. [STORY BREAK] A rare Röyksopp album with cover art by Banksy has sold for £3,720 at auction. The piece was one of just 100 copies created by Banksy after the Norwegian duo sent him a batch of blank sleeves back in 2002. Collectible doesn't quite cover it. [STORY BREAK] An immersive exhibition celebrating sixty years of Notting Hill Carnival is launching on August 27th and running through to September 2nd at Outernet in London. Called Carnival 60: Ian Watts, it draws on Watts' photo archive of the carnival. Sixty years is a serious milestone — and this sounds like the kind of show that does it justice. [STORY BREAK] In Dresden, techno club Sektor Evolution is warning it may have to close. The operators wrote publicly about the threat, noting that money alone doesn't make a party worthwhile — which suggests the issues go beyond just finances. Another club on the edge. It keeps happening. [STORY BREAK] Paris Electronic Week 2026 is shaping up as a programme of debates, workshops and club nights at key venues in the French capital, with the scene's broader cultural and political stakes firmly on the agenda. Five days, with the emphasis on engagement as much as dancing. [STORY BREAK] Meanwhile in Basel, the Tension Winter Festival is set for November 27th and 28th at Messehalle Basel, with BUNT and Mathame among the headliners confirmed so far. [STORY BREAK] Now, where are we going this weekend in Ibiza? Tonight Glitterbox at Amnesia with Catz N' Dogz, Groove Armada, Salomé Le Chat, Busy P, Cassius and Todd Terry. Tomorrow Ushuaïa for Ants with Nic Fanciulli and Hot Since 82. Sunday back to Amnesia for Pyramid with Ricardo Villalobos, Fumiya Tanaka, Laidlaw, Kepler, and Sara Landry! That's all folks! Thanks for listening! Curated by me, narrated by my AI voice. For the human side, check out our weekly dance music selections, Ibiza club playlists and our DJ mixes. All links in the description. Pocomucho Daily — Thursday 20 August 2026

Thursday, August 20th, 2026. I'm your host Ben DMZ. From Ibiza, this is Pocomucho Daily. We begin with deeply sad news. The woman found dead at Houghton Festival in Norfolk earlier this month has been named as Santanna Oush, the Ibiza-based DJ and party founder. She was 38 years old. Santanna Oush was the creator of OuShe, a party series at Pikes Hotel here on the island dedicated to celebrating women and emerging talent. The article in which this story appears carries a content warning, as her death is reported to be a suicide. If you're struggling, please reach out — resources for support are listed at the end of the original article, linked in our description. She leaves behind a real legacy in this scene, and our thoughts are with everyone who knew and loved her. [STORY BREAK] Back To Mine has announced its final Ibiza dates for 2026, and they're going out in style. Three closing nights at Pikes, welcoming Gok Wan, Becky Hill, and Faithless to the island. No further details on the exact dates just yet, but as the summer heads into its closing chapter, those are three very different flavours to finish on. [STORY BREAK] And Pacha has confirmed how it's ending its 2026 Ibiza season — a two-night Grand Closing Weekend on October 10th and 11th. Saturday the 10th brings Roger Sanchez back to Flower Power, joined by MK. Then on Sunday the 11th, PAWSA and Miguelle & Tons take the reins. A proper send-off. [STORY BREAK] Over to Sicily, where a brand new club has just opened its doors. SELVA Club Natura launched on August 14th in Ragusa, taking over a fortified farmhouse in the Sicilian countryside. It's being billed as the first club in the Iblean territory with a year-round underground dance music programme. A fortified farmhouse in rural Sicily — honestly, that sounds like exactly the kind of venue this music was made for. [STORY BREAK] In Milan, Vision Open Air is returning to Ex Macello on Saturday, September 5th, with Charlotte de Witte headlining. The former slaughterhouse space has become a key destination for electronic music in Italy over the past three years, and this marks the event's restart after its summer break. [STORY BREAK] Zamna has two announcements this week. First, the festival returns to Madrid on September 11th, taking over the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid with Black Coffee headlining, alongside AMÉMÉ and more. And second — Zamna is heading back to the Sinai Desert in Egypt this November. Details on that one are thin for now, but it's confirmed. [STORY BREAK] Cologne's Bootshaus and its label Bootshaus Music are joining Rave The Planet Berlin for the first time this year, rolling their own truck into the parade under the motto 'Imagine Love.' [STORY BREAK] Elsewhere in Germany, a new festival called NOX is taking shape in Kamenz, a small town in Saxony near the Czech border. The project involves four generations of people working together to build a techno festival in the region. Linda Gowin, Jonas Nitsche and Dimitri Hegemann are among those involved. [STORY BREAK] Ok now, if there is only one today in Ibiza? We are going to Pacha ICONS at Destino with Marco Carola, Paco Osuna, Ilario Alicante, Dennis Cruz, and Mink. That's the one. That's all folks! Thanks for listening! Curated by me, narrated by my AI voice. For the human side, check out our weekly dance music selections, Ibiza club playlists and our DJ mixes. Pocomucho Daily — Wednesday 19 August 2026

Wednesday, August 19th, 2026. I'm your host Ben D-M-Z. From Ibiza, this is Pocomucho Daily. Ibiza closing season is coming into focus, and the announcements are stacking up. Ushuaïa Ibiza has revealed its closing party line-up for October 10th — an 11-hour, open-air marathon with 15 DJs from across the globe. Details on the full roster are still emerging, but if you're planning your end-of-season pilgrimage, that's the date to lock in. [STORY BREAK] Also on October 10th, [UNVRS] will wrap up its second season — dubbed Mission 2026 — with a closing party featuring East End Dubs, The Martinez Brothers, Mochakk, Mella Dee and more. The self-styled hyperclub has had quite the sophomore run, and this looks like a fitting send-off. [STORY BREAK] And one night earlier, on Friday October 9th, Hï Ibiza closes out its 2026 season with Black Coffee and Skepta confirmed among the headliners. A bumper season at Playa d'en Bossa — residencies from CamelPhat, Ewan McVicar and Indira Paganotto among the highlights — rounded off in style. [STORY BREAK] Carl Cox has contributed music to Skintown, a new film adaptation of Ciarán McMenamin's 2018 novel set in the nineties Northern Irish rave scene. The film is drawing comparisons to Trainspotting. Appropriate, then, that Cox is on soundtrack duties. [STORY BREAK] Dutch DJ and producer Chris Stussy has rebranded — he's now going by Chris Stassy. To mark the change, he'll be hosting editions of his N.A.M.E. party series in Birmingham and Amsterdam next month. [STORY BREAK] Technics is releasing a limited-edition SL-1200 to celebrate the turntable's 55th anniversary. Each unit will carry an individually engraved anniversary badge with its own serial number. Fifty-five years and still the reference. [STORY BREAK] Amsterdam Dance Event and global nighttime consultancy VibeLab have announced a partnership to produce the Nighttime Culture Index — a new global measure designed to track the vitality of nighttime culture worldwide. Worth watching as it develops. [STORY BREAK] Stone Techno Festival 2026 has wrapped, and by the sounds of it, delivered artistically despite a difficult start on Friday. One hundred artists across five floors, with a programme that leaned confidently into niche territory. The year of transformation, apparently — their words. [STORY BREAK] Junction 2's tenth anniversary celebrations continued on July 25th with a J2 x fabric edition, and reviews are strong. Impressive in scale, yet with a crowd that kept things feeling underground. Spreading the anniversary across multiple dates seems to have paid off. [STORY BREAK] John Summit has cancelled four European dates at the end of August, including one in France, citing an urgent need for rest. No further details given — straightforward as that. [STORY BREAK] And some unfortunate news from the festival world: Decibel Open Air has cancelled its 2026 edition. The Dutch festival cited years of economic hardship and an increasingly restrictive environment as the reasons behind the decision. [STORY BREAK] Quick note for the curious — Renate, Berlin's rambling party labyrinth on the Stralau peninsula, got a writeup this week. Multiple floors, an expansive garden, and a musical programme as eclectic as the building itself. If you've never been, it's worth knowing about. [STORY BREAK] Right, what's on tonight — one pick, and it's a good one. Pacha is hosting Mau P's Baddest Behavior night with Joseph Capriati and Sven Väth on the bill. Whatever you think of the name, that lineup speaks for itself. Curated by me, narrated by my AI voice. For the human side, check out our weekly dance music selections, Ibiza club playlists and our DJ mixes. All links in the description. Pocomucho Daily — Tuesday 18 August 2026

Tuesday, August 18th 2026. I'm your host Ben DMZ. From Ibiza, this is Pocomucho Daily. Let's start on the island. Robbie Williams showed up at UNIVERSE to perform his new single "Beauty In Us" alongside Miss Monique the track had its live debut at Tomorrowland last month, so this was its second outing, and by the sounds of things, not its last. Also on the Ibiza radar — Butch has announced a three-date residency at Chinois. His first-ever residency on the island, and he's keeping it focused: no arena energy, no recycled superstar bookings. The guest DJs are people he actually rates. More on that in a moment when we get to tonight. Manumission is back. The legendary party has confirmed the return of Le Théâtre Pink P***y at 5 2 8, with a six-hour set as part of the revival. No further details yet, but the name alone will mean something to anyone who was there the first time around. Pacha has revealed its Grand Closing Weekend line-up, featuring Roger Sanchez and PAWSA. No further details confirmed at this stage, but the closing season is now very much in sight. Sad news from Denmark. Electronic musician Sofus Forsberg has died aged 56. Danish dance music platform STRØM confirmed the news on August 12th, describing him as a vital force in the country's scene. In their words, he was an "electronic music legend" whose influence and impact on the electronic music community spanned more than three decades. A significant loss. Beatport has banned AI-generated music from its platform. The marketplace updated its content guidelines on August 12th to prohibit tracks made entirely or mostly using AI. Tracks created with AI assistance that remain substantially human-made are, for now, still permitted. A line drawn — though where exactly that line sits will no doubt keep people talking. And GROOVE magazine will be providing live commentary on the Rave the Planet parade stream this year — for the first time, the full parade will be broadcast from 2pm to 10pm. Links and details available through GROOVE directly. nOW, let's talk about tonight. A genuinely difficult one. Pacha has Franky Rizardo's FLOW with Blondish. Over at 5 2 8, it's Todd Terje, Jayda G, Mr Doris, Greg Wilson and Minna — yes, that's the full line-up. And Butch kicks off his Chinois residency with Demi Riquísimo, Jennifer Loveless and Fafi Abdel Nour. Pick your lane. That's all folks! Curated by me, narrated by my AI voice. For the human side, check out our weekly dance music selections, Ibiza club playlists and our DJ mixes. All links in the description. Pocomucho Daily — Monday 17 August 2026

Monday, August 17th, 2026. I'm your host Ben DMZ. From Ibiza, this is Pocomucho Daily. Let's start with the closing parties, because the end of season is very much in the air here on the white isle. Hï Ibiza, Ushuaïa, and UNiVeRSe have all revealed their closing party lineups — firm favourites, special guests, and stacked rosters across the board. UNiVeRSe is powering down after what's been described as a monster second season, signing off with their Mission 2026 event. And over at Ushuaïa, ANTS has unveiled a stacked lineup for their final chapter of the summer. The closing stretch is here, and it sounds like the island intends to go out swinging. Staying in the neighbourhood, there's a piece making the rounds asking what it's actually like to party in Mallorca now that Ibiza has priced out most of its audience. The report, which looked at a night at the AMØK Club featuring Cro and Bootshaus, paints a picture of a more relaxed pace, mini dresses, linen trousers, and acrobatics included. The cost-of-living reality of Ibiza is clearly pushing both promoters and partygoers to explore alternatives. Back in the United States, Breakaway Festival is wrapping up what it's calling its biggest year in Texas with the Houston edition — the final stop on a 13-city 2026 tour. Dom Dolla, GRiZ, Cloonee, and Tape B are all on the bill. Meanwhile, Breakaway Philadelphia has also confirmed its return, heading back to The Festival Grounds at Subaru Park on September 11th and 12th. That one comes with 26 acts across two stages plus a silent disco, headlined by Tiësto, Marshmello, ISOxo, and SOFI TUKKER. New York is getting a new club. XTC Nightclub is set to take over the former Bushwick Triangle space in Brooklyn — a shuttered jazz bar sitting on a small concrete island in the middle of the area's dense nightclub district. No launch date and no lineups have been announced yet, but it's expected to open within the coming weeks. Also in Brooklyn, Refuge NYC is marking its first anniversary. The venue, situated between East Williamsburg and Bushwick, is celebrating one year with a lineup that includes Natasha Diggs, Deep Dish, and Chris Liebing, among others. One year in and already leaving a mark on the New York scene. Mayan Warrior has announced it will pause bringing its art car to Burning Man this year, stepping back after more than a decade on the sand. The collective will instead establish its new Discosamos camp at 2 & J. A significant shift for one of the event's most iconic presences. Richie Hawtin has waded into the ongoing debate about influencer culture in electronic music, criticising the fact that many DJs today are famous primarily for their social media reach rather than their music or craft. Expect that conversation to run and run. And a genuinely remarkable one to round off the news — Miami-based electronic artist Eddy Palermo has set a Guinness World Record, becoming the first person in history to run an ultramarathon while DJing live. Two passions, one world record. Hard to argue with that dedication. Also worth noting — German electronic music publication Groove is covering and commenting on the Rave the Planet parade livestream, which this year will be broadcast in full from 2 PM to 10 PM. Links and details available through their channels. Now if there is only one tonight? It's Circoloco at DC10, and they have absolutely loaded the lineup. We're talking &ME, Aline Umber, Arapu, The Blessed Madonna, Call Super, Chloé Caillet, David Triana, Honey Dijon, Isabella, Krol, O.BEE, Palms Trax, Priku, Rakim Under, Rampa, Skream, Tomas Station, and William Kiss. If you're on the island and not going, reassess your priorities. That's all folks! Curated by me, narrated by my AI voice. Pocomucho Daily — Wednesday 12 August 2026

Wednesday, August 12th, 2026. I'm your host Ben DMZ. From Ibiza, this is Pocomucho Daily. Cocoon is mixing things up with a refreshed line-up on its return to 528 Ibiza. No further details have been confirmed yet, but the announcement signals a new chapter for one of the island's most storied nights. Armin van Buuren has announced a vinyl-only residency at UNVRS Ibiza. The Dutch trance veteran will play a pure vinyl set at each of his dates on the island — an unusual move for an artist of his scale, and one that'll no doubt raise a few eyebrows in all the right ways. Anyma has launched ÆDEN Records, with a debut compilation titled Digital Renaissance Vol. I and a new single called Other Dimension, made with Volkoder, out this Friday. Axel Boman has launched a new label called Blurry, focused on underground dance music with a distinct visual identity. Its first release is a collaborative LP with Kompakt affiliate Superpitcher. The record is called Tell It To The Mountain, and was created following a three-day hike in Sweden. It arrives on September 25th. Luciano will bring the European debut of his immersive live concept ALIVE to Amsterdam Dance Event. It lands at Mediahaven on October 22nd, as part of the Loveland ADE programme. The concept has been four years in development. Eli & Fur will headline the first edition of Blockprint: A Block Party, taking place on Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice, California on Saturday August 22nd. Darius and Franc Moody are also confirmed for the event. Suno has announced a vinyl pressing service for AI-generated music. Users can compile tracks from their Suno library into a vinyl record, with room for up to 46 minutes of audio. And finally from the news desk — Zurich-based DJ Jenny Cara has faced significant backlash following her appearance at the Street Parade, after she displayed a Palestinian flag during her set on the Clubbing Stage. Now, what's on tonight. At Universe, Paradise with Jamie Jones is the one — Loco Dice, Hot Since 82 and Franky Rizard also on the bill. Pacha has Mau P, Seth Troxler and Ben Sterling. Hï brings together Meduza, James Hype, TSHA, Carista, Jonas Blue and Coco & Breezy. Amnesia's Resistance night features Boris Brejcha and Adam Beyer. 528 has DJ Harvey presenting Phoenix Rising for an Eclipse Special. And Playa Solei and Bora Bora host Sunwaves Ibiza's Eclipse Special with Dubfire, Mahony, Tania Vulcano, Nicolò Bonelli, Jyoel and Alexis Cabrera. That's all folks! Pocomucho Daily — Tuesday 11 August 2026

Tuesday, August 11th, 2026. I'm your host Ben DMZ. From Ibiza, this is Pocomucho Daily. Big news on the island — and it could reshape Ibiza's future as a nightlife destination. The Consell d'Eivissa has put forward proposals to stop issuing new nightclub licences on the island entirely. No new clubs. If that goes through, the map of Ibiza nightlife essentially gets frozen where it is. I will let you be the judge of that. Also in Ibiza, Burna Boy brought serious global star power to O Beach for the Luna Loca launch, and Paradise has just announced a back-to-back-to-back for the ages happening this week. No further details yet, but that phrasing alone has people paying attention. Now to some genuinely sad news. Damian Lazarus has lost his studio in Tuscany to a fire caused by a lightning strike. The artist shared a statement saying, "I'm devastated, of course, but I'm reminded that everything is impermanent." A tough blow — but a graceful response. In Berlin, a new report from Clubcommission makes for sobering reading. Thirty-nine percent of Berlin clubs are currently operating at a loss. Berliners still love their clubs, but they have less money, they're spending less time on the dancefloor, and they're drinking less alcohol. The city's club culture remains iconic, but the economics are clearly under real pressure. Agoria has taken his label Sapiens to a rather elevated location — literally. The Lyon-based producer is running chill sessions on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower at sunset, until September 3rd. As venues go, that one's hard to top. Mayan Warrior is bringing its full Art Car to Brooklyn on Saturday, August 15th, for an open-air event at Under The K Bridge, presented alongside Stranger Than. If you've seen the Art Car at Burning Man, you'll know what Brooklyn is in for. And looking further ahead — CircoLoco returns to Brooklyn Storehouse for Halloween weekend, October 30th and 31st. The lineup includes &ME, Mochakk, Rampa, Seth Troxler, Dixon, ANOTR, Beltran, Carlita, Konstant, and more across both nights. That's a serious Halloween. Also on the radar — UNTOLD 2026 is coming to Cluj-Napoca for four days of electronic music and global headliners. And mark your calendars: the 2026 total solar eclipse will be visible from Ibiza, and Beachouse is throwing a full party around it with Guy Gerber providing the atmospheric soundtrack as the island goes dark. That one writes itself. Now, what's our party picks for today in Ibiza?. KAYTRANADA is at Pacha — that's your headline pick. Over at Amnesia, Joseph Capriati leads a stacked night alongside WhoMadeWho, Luuk van Dijk, Fatima Hajji, and Clara Cuvé. And out at 528 by Pikes, it's Fatboy Slim, CC:DISCO!, and Erol Alkan — three very different energies on one bill, which is exactly the kind of thing that makes that room special. That's all folks! Curated by me, narrated by my AI voice. For the human side, check out our weekly dance music selections, Ibiza club playlists and our DJ mixes. All links in the description. Pocomucho Daily — Monday 10 August 2026

Monday, August 10th, 2026. I'm your host Ben DMZ. From Ibiza, this is Pocomucho Daily. Italy's leading clubs have mapped out their Ferragosto weekend music programmes, with venues from Lignano Sabbiadoro to the Gallura coastline, Jesolo, Tuscany and the Romagna Riviera all putting together lineups for the long holiday weekend. Ferragosto remains one of the most important dates on the Italian clubbing calendar. Over in Berlin, there's movement on the old Watergate site, which has been sitting empty for about a year and a half. Property developer Gijora Padovicz has announced plans for a new club in the space, claiming to have secured an internationally successful club operator as a tenant. No further details on who that operator might be just yet. Rainbow Disco Club is crossing borders. The beloved Japanese festival is holding its first-ever event in Singapore this October — a two-day gathering at Tanjong Pagar Distripark, an industrial arts and creative compound near the city's waterfront. The programme is split across three sessions: a day and night on October 3rd, and an afternoon on October 4th. DJ Nobu, Kuniyuki and Antal are among the acts confirmed. Leeds venue TESTBED is coming back. The 2,500-capacity club will officially relaunch in September following a significant renovation. The space has grown to 23,000 square feet, with a new mezzanine level, lobby and balcony added. A custom L-Acoustics L2 sound system and an integrated Chauvet lighting rig have both been installed. There are also plans to open a second room in 2027. Sad news from the production world. William Orbit, the British producer behind some of the most defining pop and electronic records of his era — including his work with Madonna and the All Saints track Pure Shores — has died aged 69. A statement from his family and friends, shared on August 7th, confirmed he passed away at home on July 23rd. No cause of death was given. A genuine giant. Miami's Factory Town and Insomniac have unveiled the full lineup for Hocus Pocus 2026: Dystopia Halloween. Now in its sixth edition, the event returns to Hialeah's nightlife complex from October 30th through November 1st. Chicago's Summer's Last Dance has revealed its 2026 edition, led by Big Gigantic, Henry Fong and Saxsquatch. The independent festival continues to fly the flag for community-driven dance music in a city whose festival calendar is increasingly shaped by the majors. Sasha has opened a remix competition through his 36db platform. Producers at any tempo or in any genre are invited to submit an original track built from part or all of a Sasha original. Entries close September 13th, with prizes including a pointblank writing camp and a Last Night On Earth release. And a feature worth your time — Legend festival, which brings electronic music to the ancient landscapes of Southern Italy, has been profiled. Across Europe, the search for extraordinary settings continues, and Southern Italy is turning out to be one of the more compelling answers. Now today in Ibiza? Our 2 picks: Pacha with Sonny Fodera and Armand Van Helden. And Circoloco at DC10 is stacked — Dixon, The Martinez Brothers, Luciano, Mano Le Tough, Courtesy, Gerd Janson, Jimi Jules, DJ Tennis, Garrett David, Alex Kassian, Aline Umber, Beltran and Byron Yeates. That's quite the Sunday stretch. That's all folks! Curated by me, narrated by my AI voice. For the human side, check out our weekly dance music selections, Ibiza club playlists and our DJ mixes.
