Today’s episode really helped me make sense of the journey toward cruelty our nation has traveled since the 80s. I have listened to your show since the pandemic, often sought out authors or websites you recommend, but this is the first time I have bought the hardback edition of the featured book on the same day I listened to the pod. And then later this same day I hear our “fearless leader” wants banks to be able to issue 50-year-mortgages! Investment bankers will jump to acquire those mortgages and no one will truly own their home. We will see another round of foreclosures just as we did in 2008. I’m SOOOOO glad you offer an alternative perspective on the news!! Thank you! -Susan in Southern Illinois
Amazingly uninformed

Huh? in U.S.

I wanted to try this podcast because one of the hosts is Sharhonda Bossier the CEO of Education Leaders of Color which has just been selected to evaluate implementation of the Ethnic studies curriculum in California. I listened to the episode following the Hamas terrorist attack in Gaza and was absolutely shocked by what I heard. For a podcast that focuses on “truth-telling and advocacy” there was some serious misrepresentation at play. Regardless of your perspective on it, anyone who is even remotely interested in the history of the Middle East can provide a more nuanced and correct overview of that history. It was unclear if the host even bothered to learn or research anything besides what “he heard” from his grandmother who was in the Black Panthers or a YouTube video that he watched. Is this what we’re calling legitimate podcasting these days? Any moron can record their (uninformed) views on anything and market that as an important opinion? I’m disappointed that Ms. Bossier is part of this- makes me wonder about the rigor she’ll bring to the curriculum evaluation.
