Polite Conversations

I’d give the show a full five stars if she’d be more mindful resolving — or, to make a strong point, not resolving — her tension-building monologues. I think she underestimates how powerful her use of music can be emotionally on listeners and needs to take the reigns to be certain she leaves the audience in a manageable emotional state. Unless she doesn’t want to but that’s not how she comes off.

These aren’t topics I’m super informed on, but I appreciate the depth and work that go into them! I feel like I learned something from a perspective I’m not familiar with.

Eiynah effectively ended my brief affair with New Atheism by giving me the moral clarity I needed to distinguish generic anti-religious sentiment from, e.g., Sam Harris’s anti-Muslim bigotry. I wish I had shared this podcast with certain “bros” from my old philosophy club, for whom “Making Sense” was (and probably remains) comfort food, before a few of them went full transphobe :(
