Rescue Her: Behind Sex Trafficking | Ft. Elle Ladebu

Rescue Her: Behind Sex Trafficking | Ft. Elle Ladebu

Human trafficking is commonly referred to as a modern-day form of slavery, and is a crime that effects every community. The United States government defines trafficking as “the use of force, fraud, or coercion to compel a person into commercial sex acts or labor or services against his or her will.

In today's episode guest, Elle Ladebu, shares Rescue Her's mission and vision, the dangers of pornography and it's influence in the rise of sex trafficking as well as how you and I can help combat this issue.

    ___________________

The United Nations estimate that over 30 million people worldwide are trafficked for forced labor, sexual exploitation, or organ harvesting. According to some estimates, approximately 79% of trafficking involves sexual exploitation, and 18% involves labor exploitation. Human trafficking and forced labor is a $150 billion crime worldwide, and is fueled by buyers who pay traffickers to supply victims to meet their demand. Buyers are commonly employed men with enough disposable income to engage in these activities, which typically cost from $15 to over $1,000 USD.”

Really good nuggets

Short and to the point, I think that’s why I love it so much. She is inviting and is able to relate. I love the personal examples and makes me the listener want more about the topic.
