Pouringdown is a rare and exquisite work of art. The site cannot be categorized or labeled by any societal idealization, brand or perception but, is as poignant to you as it is to me, and never for the same reasons. The uniqueness is, in itself, a lone testament to art in its basest and purest form.
Through the most blatant and sincere forms of merit, using these video blogs, Liss provides his viewers with insight into the lives of his daughter, himself, his wife, and most astonishingly, you (the viewer, the watcher, the voyeur) .
Each bit of light, color and movement belong exclusively to the creator. But, as Daniel manipulates these very ordinary moments of everyday life in to the every day lives of user 1 and user 2, what he creates is a surrealism that sparks something within each of us that poses a question. The questions are never the same, nor do any of the responses require a moment more poignant than any other, but each signifies communality between creator and ‘created for.’
We are seeking something or we wouldn’t have come here. Liss doesn’t choose to show us his vision, we choose to see it. Space and light is as palpable in his hands as clay and water on a potter’s wheel.
