In John 14:15-31 Jesus identifies the role of the Holy Spirit in the life of the disciples. Later in John 16, Jesus will speak about the work of the Holy Spirit. In todays passage, we will study the role of the Holy Spirit in helping us fulfill the commandment to love like Christ. We will see that we often fail to fully understand and yield to the work of the Spirit in our life.

In a world of people and problems it is easy to fall back into habits of self-preservation. The interaction between Jesus and Judas demonstrates the fleshly response of a selfish man versus the godly response of someone who is walking with God. Jesus perfectly displays a glorifying life and He also gives us the example to follow if we live in the fruit of the Spirit. In this sermon we will be confronted with hard questions about our own attitude in service.
