    The Know for Sure Gospel - Luke 1:1-4

    Doubt rarely defeats faith all at once. More often, it buzzes around the edges—persistent, distracting, and hard to ignore. In this opening sermon through the Gospel of Luke, we begin with Luke 1:1–4 and ask a simple but deeply important question: How can we know for sure? Luke writes so that believers may have certainty concerning the things they have been taught about Jesus. His Gospel is historically grounded, carefully researched, and intentionally organized. Luke places Jesus in real history, among real rulers, towns, roads, and eyewitnesses, reminding us that Christianity is not built on myths or abstract ideas, but on God acting in history through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As a physician and careful investigator, Luke gathered testimony, compared accounts, and wrote an orderly narrative under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. His Gospel shows us Jesus as the fulfillment of God’s promises, the One who forms a new people around His Word and table, and the Savior who sends His people out on mission. Throughout this series, we will trace three major themes: fulfilled, formed, and sent. We will see Jesus fulfilling the hopes of Scripture, forming a cross-shaped people, and sending Spirit-dependent witnesses to proclaim repentance and forgiveness to all nations. Whether you are meeting Jesus for the first time, wrestling with doubt, new to faith, or have followed Christ for years, Luke invites you to look again—and to know with certainty the truth of Jesus Christ and find assurance in God’s Word.

    The Cost of Discipleship

    Following Jesus is more than admiring Him, agreeing with His teaching, or fitting Him into our existing priorities. In Matthew 8:18–22, Jesus confronts two inadequate responses to His call: the zealous fool who has not counted the cost and the hesitant fence-sitter who places other loyalties before Christ. True discipleship is neither casual nor convenient. Jesus calls His followers to trust Him above worldly security, personal comfort, and competing commitments. Yet the good news is not that we must prove ourselves worthy disciples. Jesus perfectly counted the cost, remained completely devoted to His Father’s glory, and gave His life for us. Through faith, His perfect faithfulness becomes ours, and the Holy Spirit empowers us to respond to grace with courageous obedience. Times of loss and disruption often reveal where our deepest trust lies. But they can also become opportunities for renewed faithfulness. Rather than retreating into fear or clinging to comfort, the church is called to move outward as Spirit-empowered witnesses—placing Christ first and carrying the gospel wherever He sends us.

    You are Equipped to Share the Gospel

    Many Christians hesitate to share their faith because they feel unqualified, unprepared, or unable to answer difficult questions. In this sermon from Matthew 28:16–20, we are reminded that the Great Commission is not reserved for especially gifted evangelists. It is the calling of every follower of Jesus. The disciples themselves received this commission while some were still wrestling with doubt. Their confidence did not rest in their knowledge or abilities, but in the authority of the risen Christ and His promise to remain with them always. The Samaritan woman in John 4 provides a powerful example. She had no theological training and did not have all the answers, but after encountering Jesus, she told others what He had done and invited them to meet Him. Many believed because of her testimony. Every Christian already knows the essential truths needed to begin: who Jesus is, why He came, and how we must respond. We should continue growing in biblical understanding, but we must not allow insecurity to keep us silent. Christ has called us to make disciples, empowered us by His Spirit, and promised to build His Church.

    Our Love Problem that Prevents Evangelism

    In this sermon from Mark 8:27–38, we continue our evangelism series by looking at the deeper reason we often hesitate to share the gospel. Our greatest barrier is not merely fear or lack of knowledge—it is a love problem. Jesus calls us to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him because He alone is worthy of our deepest love and allegiance. We are invited to see Jesus clearly: who He is, why He came, and how we must respond. As Christ becomes central in our hearts, we are freed to love our neighbors well through prayer, listening, hospitality, service, and sharing our story with Jesus as the hero.     Blessed to be a Blessing

    In this sermon from Psalm 67, we see that God blesses His people so that His way would be known on earth and His saving power among all nations. True blessing is not merely comfort, success, or ease—it is knowing God’s love in Christ and being satisfied in Him. As we receive God’s grace, we are sent to bless others through prayer, friendship, hospitality, service, and sharing the gospel with Jesus as the hero. We invite you to listen and be encouraged to enjoy God’s blessings deeply and share them freely, so that all peoples may praise Him.

    Crossing the Pain-Line for the Glory of Christ

    In this sermon from 1 Timothy 1:12–17, we consider evangelism for the glory of Christ. Through the story of John Knox and the testimony of the apostle Paul, we are reminded that fear, pain, and ridicule often keep us silent—but the glory of Christ is worth more. Paul’s life shows us the wonder of mercy: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. When that grace grips our hearts, it stirs gratitude, burns away indifference, and moves us to proclaim Jesus with courage, gentleness, and love.     The Story into which we are Sent

    Why do we evangelize? In this opening sermon of our evangelism series, we trace the big story of Scripture and see that God’s heart has always been to fill the earth with worshipers of Him. From creation, to Abraham, to Israel, to the Great Commission, God calls His people to show and tell His goodness. Most of all, we look to Jesus—the Savior who came, died, rose again, and now sends His church with the greatest news in the world: sinners can be reconciled to God through Him. We invite you to listen and be encouraged to step into God’s mission with joy, confidence, and love for others.

    Our Heavenly Trajectory - 1 Corinthians 15:35–49

    What happens after we die—and what kind of body will we have? In this sermon from 1 Corinthians 15:35–49, we step into one of the most hope-filled and transformative teachings in all of Scripture: our heavenly trajectory. Using the simple but powerful image of a seed, the Apostle Paul reminds us that what is buried is not what is raised. What is sown perishable is raised imperishable. What is weak is raised in power. What is natural is raised spiritual.  This message unpacks the reality that, in Christ, we are not destined to remain “people of the dust.” We are being transformed into the image of the “man of heaven”—Jesus Himself. And while that transformation will be fully realized in the resurrection, it has already begun now through our union with Him and the power of the Holy Spirit.  But there’s tension. We live in the in-between—still in our earthly bodies, still battling sin, still surrounded by what this sermon calls the “dust” of this world. And that dust can cloud our vision, distort our identity, and cause us to live as if this life is all there is. This sermon calls us to wake up to where we’re headed. To shake off the dust. To live by faith, not sight. To begin—even now—to bear the image of Christ in how we love, lead, repent, and pursue holiness. Because you are not who you once were…and you are not yet who you will be.
