I most appreciated that this episode included the relationship between setting boundaries to open doors - that establishing one’s non-negotiables makes space to say yes to opportunities that are aligned with a person’s value & their values. Well done!

I couldn’t get through the first 15 minutes. I don’t think the host even read Dr. Sankofa’s book. He just read the book’s Amazon reviews.

Mark Wright seemed more preoccupied with injecting boring personal anecdotes than actually engaging Roy Wood Jr. about his fascinating career. Instead of asking probing questions or exploring the nuances of Wood’s comedy, Wright offered surface-level commentary and often interrupted with irrelevant asides. There was a palpable lack of preparation, as if Wright skimmed a Wikipedia page minutes before recording. Worse still, the tone of the conversation felt disjointed. At times, Wright veered into cloying admiration without substance, and at others, he seemed oddly disengaged, missing cues that could’ve led to deeper stories or insights. Roy Wood, ever the professional, remained courteous, but one couldn’t help but feel he was embarrassed — a guest capable of so much more, let down by a host who is unable to go beyond the shallow end.

Nobody is listening to this podcast except the hosts. Mark W. Wright and Heather Keets Wright are acutely boring, unsuccessful writers, with zero audience except their next-door neighbors in Gastonia, NC. The previous reviews are all fake—written by Mark Wright himself. You can tell by the atrocious grammar, run-on sentences, verbose yet unspecific flattery, compounded by his near-comical overuse of “and.” Additionally, Mark and Heather’s point of view is grossly uninformed yet incredibly arrogant. So why make a podcast when nobody is listening? Because Mark W. Wright and Heather Keets Wright are that thirsty for attention and like pretending that their living room is a media company. I trust that you too will agree that being in their presence on a podcast or in real life is a truly humiliating experience.
