They want to connect people with the amazing gastronomy here in Tucson with an emphasis on local sourcing, adversity in the food industry, and food accessibility in the Southwest. Tucson was the first UNESCO City of Gastronomy in the United States and its time that people who contribute to that distinction are highlighted.

    Gilley is the Owner of Lovin’ Spoonfuls and has been vegan for the majority of her life. She's mastered the technique of creating vegan comfort food. She took over Lovin’ Spoonfuls, at 2990 N. Campbell Ave, in 2017 and has kept the restaurant afloat, even during quarantine, in her collaborations with Chef John Paul. Gilley told Prickly Pair Podcast hosts Alexandra Pere and Nicole Feltman that she loves switching people over to veganism and she finds most success in doing it with the buffalo chicken sandwich. “I love getting the older man who has been eating beef every day for 70 years and is like ‘I love this fried chicken, and I am like yes! Chef Travis Gary Peters recently opened a gastropub, The Delta, at 135 S. Sixth Ave, in downtown Tucson. Peters told the Prickly Pair Podcast hosts that The Delta is a chef-driven restaurant that reflects his vision, as well as the visions of co-owners Steve Dunn and Bryce Zeagler. The restaurant is inspired by all things Southern, like New Orleans cuisine and Southwestern flavors, but don’t expect to find a standard gumbo. In 2020 he was named “Best Chef” in Arizona out of 3,000 nominations. Nicole, one of the stellar co-hosts, previously worked with Rod at PY Steakhouse.
