Write Like You Mean It: Kim Arnold on Clarity, Confidence and Career‑Changing Communication

I’m so excited to welcome Kim Arnold onto Prim Rose Light. I first heard Kim speak at an event last year, and we connected instantly — her clarity, humour, and no‑nonsense approach to communication stayed with me long after. I cannot wait for you to hear her pearls of wisdom. Kim is recognised as one of the world’s leading authorities on persuasive communication and is the founder of Email Attraction. She’s famously allergic to bad emails, and phrases like “I hope this email finds you well” bring her out in hives. Her work has been featured in the Financial Times, Forbes, CNBC, BBC Radio and more, and she advises global organisations including Meta, KPMG and Barclays. She is also the author of the award‑winning, best‑selling book Email Attraction – Get What You Want Every Time You Hit Send, described by the Financial Times as “engaging and memorable.” In this episode, Kim and I explore what it truly means to write with impact in a world overflowing with noise. We discuss why effective writing is a core leadership skill, how tone shapes trust, and why clarity is one of the greatest gifts we can offer others. Kim breaks down the components of strong writing, how to adapt your style across emails, reports and presentations, and how to structure messages so people actually read — and act on — them. We also dive into the nuances of communication across cultures, generations and neurotypes, including why idioms can unintentionally exclude or confuse. Kim shares practical strategies for navigating “rude‑sounding” emails, managing difficult personalities, and using assertive language without triggering bias — especially for women, who are often judged more harshly for directness. Together, we unpack how written communication shapes influence, workplace dynamics and career progression, and how leaders can combine impact with emotional intelligence. We also look ahead to how AI will transform the way we write, connect and show up professionally. This conversation is full of insight, humour and deeply practical advice — a masterclass in writing well, thinking clearly, and leading with intention. Kim's book can be ordered from Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Email-Attraction-what-want-every/dp/1781335044/ref=sr_1_1?adgrpid=194864520388&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.qPS5AxlPfaw9haS564f2PQ.oeq0YoAqjs56GB6CeR9YN-d0Gi9BLzwu8cbGCMF87KA&dib_tag=se&gad_source=1&hvadid=793502058220&hvdev=c&hvexpln=0&hvlocphy=9195174&hvnetw=g&hvocijid=4230146013632147460--&hvqmt=e&hvrand=4230146013632147460&hvtargid=kwd-1233720122535&hydadcr=24434_2435207_1595&keywords=kim+arnold+email+attraction&mcid=53ad8e0ce17e3b8cb6398dcc5c417796&qid=1772448248&sr=8-1 Sending you all love and light, Roshni x

Navigating Law, Neurodiversity & Identity: A Personal Journey Into Employment Law

In this episode, we’re joined by employment lawyer, Jen Kingsmill who speaks entirely in their personal capacity, sharing an honest and deeply human look at their journey into the legal profession. From navigating the challenges and strengths of being neurodivergent, to finding their place within employment law, they bring a thoughtful and grounded perspective shaped by lived experience, social mobility, and the intersectional layers of their identity. Our conversation explores what “good culture” really means inside organisations, why so many workplace issues can stem from culture gone wrong, and how neurodiversity is increasingly showing up in employment matters. We also unpack the critical role managers play in supporting neurodivergent colleagues, the realities of reasonable adjustments and Access to Work, and the nuanced questions around disclosure, diagnosis, and stigma. Together, we reflect on mental health, imposter syndrome, and the pressures of high‑performance environments like law — and how these experiences intertwine with neurodivergent traits. This episode stays practical, compassionate, and high‑level, offering insights for both employers and employees while centring the guest’s personal story.   Listeners seeking tailored legal advice based on the themes discussed are welcome to reach out to the guest directly on a chargeable basis. Please do reach out to Jen at jen.kingsmill@lewissilken.com Sending you love and light, Roshni x

When the body whispers: burnout, healing & reclaiming peace to get back your glow in order to flow

In this deeply grounding episode, Roshni sits down with Divya Jagtiani — founder of SHANTI³, bestselling author of Glow Through the Change, and former structured finance lawyer — to explore the truth behind burnout, healing and realignment. Divya shares the pivotal moments that led to her own burnout in 2024, the early whispers her body tried to send, and the cultural, emotional and childhood patterns that kept her pushing beyond her limits. Together, they unpack how women — especially South Asian women — navigate pressure, identity, and the expectation to “do it all.” She also walks us through the modalities that transformed her life: ThetaHealing®, nervous system work, skincare as ritual, and the philosophy of peace of body, mind and spirit that underpins SHANTI³. This conversation is practical, honest and deeply compassionate — offering tools for anyone experiencing burnout, questioning their path, or seeking a gentler way to live, work and heal. As promised, for anyone that would like to speak with Divya, please do email her on: divyajagtiani@gmail.com If you would like to buy her book for much more on the topics we covered and much more, please do check out the link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Glow-Through-Change-Empowering-Menopausal/dp/1068276908/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1FDAVPENO9FZC&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.KG8igPe1S8OpSLzPjMmLZQ.IaBVQ1IP5zUGVIPsg_mUv9dRQyfMfhYQyWIexuhfT7A&dib_tag=se&keywords=Through+the+Change%2C+divya&qid=1766443670&sprefix=through+the+change+divya+%2Caps%2C252&sr=8-1 Sending you love and light for the holidays and as we close out 2025 and welcome in a new year - bring on 2026.
