AAPI Heritage and Mental Health Awareness Month

In this episode we feature two friends and colleagues who talk about mental health in the AAPI community. From personal stories, to tips and resources, our guests Aniqa and Sukhmani leave us wanting to talk more. Here’s more info about each of them: Aniqa Mian is a public health professional and mental health advocate. She’s Pakistani, and moved to Los Angeles when she was just a year. She currently works as a project manager in Patient Experience at Boston Children's Hospital and also has a passion project, Flourish Easy. If anyone knows her, they'll know that in her free time she loves to walk, chat your soul out, and create in some shape or form, through digital art or watercolors. You can find her on IG: @aniqs and @flourisheasy Sukhmani Bal, MPH, is a recent graduate of the Boston University School of Public Health where she focused on Community Health, Mental Health and Substance Use. She did her undergraduate work in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. Through community engagement and cross cultural education she hopes to empower individuals to actively participate in their own treatment. By working to educate both the public and medical community she hopes to ameliorate the stigma attached to seeking treatment and make quality care accessible to all.
