    Chasing Your Purpose — Special Guests: Jon Daniel and Kevin Christenson

    Season 4 was shot and recorded at the Carolina Conference, Charlotte, NC and at Southern Adventist University, Collegedale, TN. Ryan's special guests for this season are made up of local pastors, students, Conference employees and church members in the Carolinas and employees of Southern Adventist University. "What is my purpose?" This question runs through every young adult's mind. For some, they have known their whole life and for others as they are heading off to college, they are still asking that question. In this episode, Ryan and his guests explore this question but not just from a sitting back and waiting to find it but actually pursuing it.     Let us introduce you to this episode's special guests: Jon Daniel is currently a graduate student at Southern Adventist University, pursuing a master's degree in clinical mental health and counseling. Previously he spent 6 years doing youth ministry. Jon and his wife, Kim, live in Ooltewah TN and enjoy hiking trails, exploring coffee shops and other stereotypical millennial activities.  Kevin Christenson is originally from Kettering, Ohio, where Kevin attended Spring Valley Academy and graduated Southern Adventist University with Bachelor’s degrees in International Business. During his time at SAU, he created the comedy sketch show Studio 4109: LIVE and starred as “Ashpenaz” in the 2014 Oshkosh Camporee: Daniel (and its documentary film) After interning for several years with Kettering Health Network in marketing and communications, he went into the booming Atlanta film industry. Kevin worked on major film and TV sets alongside A-list actors, musicians, directors, and producers; learning the industry’s best practices to help the church produce better storytelling.     Where Do You Find Beauty in Seventh-day Adventism? — Special Guests: Kaleb Eisele and Henry Johnson

It's so easy to pick-a-part things that might be wrong with the church. In a society that breeds pessimism, how can we find the positive or beauty in the mess caused by humans. Join Ryan and his two guests as they share their personal stories and journeys and their perspectives on finding the beauty in the Seventh-day Adventist church.  Let us introduce you to this episode's special guests: Kaleb Eisele is a content creator living with his wife and two cats in Portland, Oregon. As the editor and founder of social media projects like Humans of Adventism and Oregon Adventist Stories, Kaleb’s work focuses on the life experiences of Seventh-day Adventists. Kaleb holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the College of Charleston, where he focused on emerging literary trends, and currently serves as the VP for Recruitment & Development for the Society of Adventist Communicators. www.adventisthumans.com Henry Johnson is the director of Young Adult Ministries at the Carolina Conference. In 2019, he teamed up with Ryan Becker to cohost a brand-new podcast series called “A Beautiful Faith,” which launched in early 2020.     Prayer Life — Special Guests: Marty Miller and Austin Bates

    Season 4 was shot and recorded at the Carolina Conference, Charlotte, NC and at Southern Adventist University, Collegedale, TN. Ryan's special guests for this season are made up of local pastors, students, Conference employees and church members in the Carolinas and employees of Southern Adventist University. The subject of a "Prayer Life" can be a touchy one. Some may feel subjected to judgment if their's is compared to yours. For some, they may desire a deeper better prayer life while other's think theirs is sufficient. Join Ryan and his guests as the dive head first into their perspectives and personal experiences with their own Prayer Life Journey. Let us introduce you to this episode's special guests: Marty Miller is a lifelong disciple of Christ, the loving husband of his first wife, the proud father of two adult children, and has most recently become an exuberant grandfather! Marty’s career path has been primarily in the field of education having served in both public and private sectors from California to Tennessee. He has held positions that include elementary school principal, multi-grade teacher, middle school science teacher, high school science teacher, nature center director, outdoor school director, educational consultant, university education professor, student teacher supervisor, and outdoor leadership program director. He is a well-recognized outdoor professional with skills and certifications that include WMI/NOLS Wilderness First Responder, ACA Swift Water Rescue, and AIARE Avalanche Safety. Marty is gifted at discovering and sharing spiritual lessons from nature, God’s second book, as modeled by Jesus Christ, the master educator. Now, after nearly 30 years in education, Marty has transitioned into full-time ministry by creating Blueprint for Men, a non-profit men’s ministry devoted to helping men discover and live out their God-given design in a secular world. Through outdoor retreats, small group support, leadership training, and curriculum development, Marty is helping men to step up and become the men God intended them to be, better husbands, better fathers, and better disciples of Christ! Blueprint for Men Austin Bates is a sophomore theology major at Southern Adventist University. He has a passion for music ministry in the Adventist church and is chasing God’s call to be a youth pastor in an urban setting.
