Genesis 3:1–24

Every temptation begins with believing something other than what God has said. Genesis 3 exposes the deception, shame, and consequences of sin while reminding us that God meets sinners with grace. Through Jesus, we are invited to stop hiding, confess our sin, and receive the mercy only he can give.

The Father's love gives us a new identity, secures our eternal future, and transforms how we live right now. Through faith in Jesus, we are not merely forgiven but welcomed into God's own family as his children. That identity is not defined by our failures, our past, or what others think of us. One day we will see Jesus face to face and be fully conformed to his likeness. That hope is not just a comfort for eternity; it's a call to pursue holiness today.

What has your heart? Through 1 John 2:15–17, we're reminded that what captures our hearts ultimately shapes our lives. Instead of chasing the temporary promises of this world, God calls us to love the Father and live for what is eternal. When our hearts belong to him, we discover the lasting joy and purpose only he can give.

1 John 2:12–14

In 1 John 2:12–14, John pauses from a series of commands to remind every believer of three foundational truths about their identity in Jesus. These three truths speak to every season of the Christian life—whether you're new to faith and wrestling with guilt, in a mature season where spiritual routines have replaced genuine closeness with God, or in the middle of an intense battle with temptation and sin, John has something important to say to you. Identity always comes before activity, and when you know who you are in Christ, you can move forward with clarity and purpose.

1 John 2:7–11

We live in a world that uses the word love for everything from wedding vows to queso. But the love John writes about in 1 John 2:7–11 is something different entirely. It's unconditional. It's self-sacrificing. And it's one of the clearest signs that the light of Christ is actually real in your life. When the light of Christ is real in you, the love of Christ becomes visible through you. So here's the question Pastor Coleman leaves us with: Is it visible through you?
