I love Proxy. While many of these stories are about “niche” emotional conundrums, they tap into feelings/human conditions that are so universal. Yowei is a compassionate and fun host, and I love the show’s creativity of the proxy choices.

I really appreciate how Proxy leans into emotional conversations without trying to tidy them up. There’s a raw honesty in the way people share their stories, and the hosts hold space with real care. Even when the topics are heavy, I somehow walk away feeling more connected and even hopeful. It reminds me there’s still joy to be found in simply being human.

I enjoy this show, and I think it excels when the proxy is someone who feels actually connected to the situation. I am not particularly interested in experts— I want to hear from people who are going through it! For instance, I loved the bisexual wife episode, but the recent dementia episode fell flat for me. I don’t want to hear someone’s therapy session, I want to hear moments of authentic connection.

I love this idea and it's executed expertly. Hearing these proxy convos really provides insight into other people's experiences and internal landscape. And even if the 'emotional conundrums' addressed in the show aren't similar mine, they still seem to help me deal with my own painful past experiences a bit. This show is so good - I'm glad Yowei is back making a podcast!
