Puck Soup

I listen to a few hockey podcasts and this is my favorite. Sean and Ryan have a consistently amusing banter without it being the forced “drive time sports guy” affectations. They have takes, sure, but I’ve agreed with most of them. My only complaint would be I’d like it to be more frequent!

These 2 guys are smart hockey guys. But by the time their weekly pod is released all the news is old. Plus they think that if players are not McDavid or McKinnon and a small handful of others, the players all stink at hockey. Just a lot of obnoxious tone with a smarmy attitude that everyone else is stupid except the two of us. Lambert especially. And for 2 guys allegedly in the know, in their most recent pod they wonder why the Islanders picked up 2 defensemen without having a clue that 3/6 of the starting D are hurt. So much for smart hockey guys.

I enjoy this podcast tremendously with one glaring exception. Ryan Lambert’s audio makes it sound like he’s talking on his cell phone and it detracts greatly from the overall quality of the podcast. Ryan, you can buy a great microphone for 100 bucks. Do your fans a favor and invest in one!

When the guy you suffer through so you can listen to the guy you like says gems like, “perception is reality” is it time to mash the unsubscribe button? Now the guy you suffer through can’t stop saying, “you know what I mean?” Dude your thought are not so profound that they can’t be followed. Can’t take it anymore. I’ll just listen to the guy I want to on The Athletic pod. Be good gents, you know what I mean?
