TEASER - The 2010/11 Vancouver Canucks - Patreon Exclusive

This is a clip from June's Patreon-exclusive bonus episode which is a deep dive on the 2010/11 Vancouver Canucks. In this clip, Ryan and P Mac discuss a key 'what if?' during this playoff run. What if Alex Burrows didn't slay that dragon in game 7 in overtime? What would have happened to the Canucks' team and front office?
In this bonus episode, we tackle the entire 2010/11 Vancouver Canucks season! From the wheeling and dealing of draft picks to bring in defensive depth, to adding key free agent pieces in the summer to their crucial trade deadline acquisitions, they discuss it all.
They discuss the team's incredibly dominant regular season which earned them the organization's first President's Trophy. They also go round by round breaking down key games and storylines. From Burrow's dragon slaying in round one, Ryan Kesler's domination over Nashville in round two and to the power play destruction vs San Jose in round 3.
Oh, and they talk about the Stanley Cup Final against the Boston Bruins and the countless injuries that the Canucks just could not recover from.

266 - Phase 1 Of PON Summer Vacation

The NHL enters phase 2 of their return to play plan and we're entering phase 1 of our summer vacation. We'll be back ... when the NHL is back!
A full bench starts off the show as the gang discusses once again, the likelihood of the NHL (or sports for that matter) returning to North America. With COVID-19 cases spiking across the United States, it's hard to imagine it could be sooner rather than later.
The gang discusses who the most average Canucks player is, some drama in Anaheim with GM Bob Murray calling out his veterans and Dallas Eakins. They also look at ongoing concerns in Ottawa, this time regarding the Sens Foundation and what they did with donations.
They answer some great listener questions about trash TV, returning to bars and restaurants and fake NHL audiences during empty arena games.

This week Paul's got a raccoon friend and Ryan locks down a sweet deal on an apartment for a pal next door. 265 - It's A Trap!

    265 - It's A Trap!

A difficult week in our world to say the least, we try to talk about hockey and life, but some weeks it's a lot harder than others.
This week Ryan, Geeta, P Mac and eventually Dave talk about the likelihood of the NHL returning. They also touch on Judd Brackett officially parting ways with the Vancouver Canucks and just what that means for the organization. Speaking of the Canucks, the gang discusses Jake Virtanen distracted driving social media posts and who would wind up on our Mount Rushmore's of the NHL. Ryan buys a new big TV and is watching a lot of mid 90's sports on it.
They look back at Patrick Roy's turbulent exit out of Montreal and make some interesting comparisons between him and Patrik Laine of the Winnipeg Jets.

    263 - Because It's The Cup*

The gang's all here and we discuss the latest involving the NHL, the NHLPA, a 24 team playoff and the hub cities that could host.
Ryan, Geeta, Dave and Paul discuss the logistics behind an NHL start up, look at Eddie Lack's AMA on Reddit and discuss the incredible ten episode journey that was The Last Dance. Dave and Paul also give an excellent look back at the legend of Tony Hand and Scottish hockey.

that guy from that place ,

The scorpions are slowly leaving...

My house was somehow infested by scorpions but it seems like they've mostly gone away within hours of writing this review.

But actually these guys are great, they have great chemistry and know many things about hockey. I always look forward to listening on Monday or Tuesday or whenever it is the episode comes out.

Hockey? Podcast?

These hosts are grating to listen to after about 10 mins. I have no problem with candor between hosts- it’s what gives each podcast an identity- but they just ramble on for the entire show every now and again dropping a hockey reference. They just get annoying a quarter of the way through.

Painful

Tried to listen and got halfway thru one episode. Stopped halfway thru my morning run to find something else to listen to. Sounds like a group of giggling high schoolers with very little serious discussion of games or analysis.
