    Ep.#8: Pointless Suffering VS. Purposeful Suffering

    A shocking reminder & beautiful lesson in TRUSTING THE PROCESS.  In this episode I share an intense story about the US Marine Corps training - in a documentary I watched the instructors put the trainees through 1 specific excruciating task, which at first glance, could seem cruel and pointless. The instructors put the trainees in a room full of teargas! But there are 3 specific and purposeful reasons these instructors inflict this pain on the trainees - to help them develop TRUST, FAITH and CONFIDENCE in their equipment, their instructors and most importantly, themselves! All of which they will need in the next stages of their life… Their suffering had a payoff, even when they weren’t aware there was one. The same tends to be true for us in our own lives.  We can search for and decide what the payoff is or what we want it to be, even in the amidst the suffering. In this new episode I share how a Sunday evening hike which was ruined quickly turned into a life changing experience. The insights I share from that hike will help change your life as well. WE WANT OPTIONS !!! One of the things I work on with my clients is helping them clarify and identify the experiences they want to have - whether it be something they want to do, have, feel, etc, and then helping them clarify how they can find or create those experiences elsewhere.
