Episode 82: Pursuing Parenting ADHD Children with Avigail Gimpel
Avigail and her husband, Daniel, moved to Israel soon after their marriage. Avigail continued her education there, earning advanced degrees in teaching reading to children with Dyslexia and cognitive education for children with ADHD symptoms.
In 2003, she and her husband, with three small children moved to Moscow, Russia. There she taught in three different schools and headed up the English department in one of the schools.
Upon our return to Israel, she emersed herself in studying and developing treatment options for ADHD for her own six kids and many struggling students. She collaborated with her father-in-law, Dr. Amnon Gimpel (psychiatrist and neurologist), and developed a parent training program. She moved on to develop a teacher’s training program. Avigail teaches at Hertzog College as well as lectures in Israeli schools and to parent groups all over Israel. She works in private practice, training parents to become ADHD coaches to their children, and spouses to learn a new love language to communicate with respect.
She recently published her first book “HyperHealing”, based on many years of research and practice both as a mother of a good number of kids diagnosed with ADHD, as well as a classroom teacher of children struggling with ADHD symptoms. Her second book HyperHealing, Show me the Science was published in September 2022.

Episode 80: Pursuing Vitality When Life Knocks You Down with Joanne Greene
I never bought the adage “little girls should be seen and not heard.” I’ve used my voice on San Francisco radio and television, webinars and podcasts, to explore the issues of our time with playful irreverence, candor, and compassion. Now, with many decades of seasoning, I’m sharing what I’ve learned about navigating family and career, moving through pain and loss.
Currently, I co-host the podcast All the F Words with Gabi Moskowitz and recently launched a new podcast In this Story where I share micro-essays set to music, showcasing tales and observations from my animated life.
On June 20, 2023, She Writes Press will publish By Accident: A Memoir of Letting Go, in which I emerge from life-threatening calamities with a big fat smile and a heap of hope.

Inspiring podcast
Melissa is a wise, empathetic, open-hearted host who aims to help us move through life’s challenges with grace. Listening to this podcast is a balm for the soul and a reminder that we give ourselves messages that improve the quality of our lives and the lives of those with whom we interact.
Soul-deep, healing conversation!
Just listened to the episode with Tommy McCoy. My last name is McKoy, so I figured I’d check it out. Wow! The conversation between Melissa and Tommy was raw, honest, vulnerable, and hopeful. I downloaded his White Flag app, which helps people to find support as well as give support for various issues so many of us suffer from. I will be on there as a person who can give support for depression, alcoholism, family dysfunction, trauma. I admire and appreciated Tommy’s willingness and ability to put himself out there like that, sharing his pain and trauma. He truly has a heart driven to help others.
Not Alone
This podcast is a reminder that we are all so intricately connected. I get to see myself in the stories of others and know that truly we are in Thai together. Deeply enriching!
