Indianapolis Colts Sign Keenan Allen + What Goes on in the NCAA Transfer Portal? Stephen Holder & Zak Keefer Join!

(00:00-26:14) – Query & Company kicks off on a Tuesday with Jake Query and producer Eddie Garrison discussing the news from last night that the Indianapolis Colts have signed Keenan Allen to a one-year deal. Why is this signing just coming to fruition? Does this say anything about Alec Pierce’s availability for week one? (26:14-41:02) – A big problem the NCAA has right now is the transfer portal and NIL. Zak Keefer will join Jake Query to discuss, but Jake shares his thoughts on the situation and how it stems from how athletes are being raised. (48:44-1:15:46) – The Athletic’s Zak Keefer makes an appearance on Query & Company to talk college athletics and NFL. Jake and Zak’s conversation starts by highlighting some things that are in his story about how agents in college athletics do not have the athletes best interests at heart and what it’s like for coaches navigating the transfer portal with NIL factored in. Finally, they get into the Colts signing Keenan Allen and the future of Anthony Richardson. (1:15:46-1:27:48) – Jake points out something that Zak Keefer said about Anthony Richardson when considering whether or not he will make the 53-man roster when the roster is cut in less than two weeks. (1:34:20-2:04:03) – ESPN’s Stephen Holder makes his weekly visit on Query & Company to talk all things Indianapolis Colts. Jake and Stephen share their thoughts on why Keenan Allen waited so long to sign with a team and if there were other teams that were interested in his services. They also touch on the development we have seen from Anthony Richardson since last season, if Charvarius Ward’s back injury is concerning or not, and why Richardson could be a short term answer for a Daniel Jones injury but Riley Leonard could be a long term answer. (2:04:03-2:12:26) – The Indiana Fever are back in action tonight against the Toronto Tempo. Jake and Eddie preview the game and are upset with Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham.   (2:12:26-2:17:09) – The show closes out with JMV joining Jake to preview his show!
