Factors In Action - Grief, Social Support and Releasing Suppressed Emotions

Factors In Action - Grief, Social Support and Releasing Suppressed Emotions

Are you experiencing grief from your diagnosis? Do your loved ones feel supportive or do they avoid the tough emotional conversations? Tune-in as Liz shares how grief is an emotion that can come with a diagnosis and how to keep your social support system strong enough to help you through it.
The radical remission research shows us that feeling and releasing difficult emotions is important to our health. Some ways to work through big emotions like grief include journaling, talking with a trusted friend, meditation, sitting in quiet reflection, and if needed seek out a therapist - find your best way to allow the emotions to be felt, acknowledged, and then processed so they can leave your body. Click here to get your copy of The Grief Experience book.

Factors In Action: Empowerment with a New Diagnosis

Factors In Action: Empowerment with a New Diagnosis

This season on the podcast, co-hosts Liz and Karla will be sharing mini episodes each Monday to highlight important topics for a healing journey. These Factors In Action episodes will share insightful ways that you can bring the healing factors into your life.
This Week - Empowerment with a New Diagnosis
Start from an Empowered Place. First, take a deep breath. Determine if you are in an emotional emergency or a physical emergency. Many cancers have been growing for some time and therefore are not a physical emergency. Most of us have time to research, get second opinions, and make informed decisions.
Tell your doctor you do not want to hear the “prognosis” or the statistics. You are not a number and should insist from the start on being treated like an individual not as a number or diagnosis. The statistics and prognosis will not help you and may only upset you more. No one, not even the smartest doctor, can possibly know YOUR outcome. There are so many stories of people who have outlived the prognosis! You can be one of them!

Virtual Inspiration and Hope

I am a stage IV metastatic breast cancer thriver. This podcast is a virtual form of HOPE and INSPIRATION. There is always something to be learned from the hosts and guests, a thread to follow that might resonate with your situation. I listen to every episode but also go back and re-listen to certain episodes when my emotional management processes and journaling are not enough to quell my occasional fear. Listening to that episode always puts me back in control. Thank you Radical Remission Project Team for creating and delivering this gift to the world.
