My favorite podcast

I discovered Radio Menea about a year ago on an Autostraddle podcast list and it quickly became a favorite. I have been doing a lot of long drives between MA and MD this year, and this has been a great show to listen to. I love the mix of music and conversation and unlike some other reviewers I do not get tired of the talking! I love the talking and commentary and the friendship and politics and discussions about identity and queerness and latinidad and language and more. The recent queer pride episode was amazing and I also really loved a discussion about feelings that was on another episode and what it means to move through the world with big feelings! I also love getting introduced to new music. And have learned a lot about musical histories of these music genres. Also I love that the music interludes let me zone out sometimes and then tune back in and it doesn’t distract my driving. Sometimes when a podcast requires me to listen to intently I end up switching it off while driving, and whenever that happens I switch to Radio Menea again.

Level up your music!

Always heard of radio menea and not sure why it took me so long to finally tune in! This podcast has completely re-inspired me and my music. I constantly find beautiful music, new and old, that just makes me so incredibly happy. My “recently added” tab on Apple Music is pure heart eyes thanks to you guys. Love the commentary which provides super interesting insights and can totally relate to the latinx experience. Keep it up cause I’m here LIVING for it!

Depends on the episode

I mostly enjoy this podcast, but I get pena ajena when they’re interviewing, and I think it’s because they don’t have an easy vibe the way some other hosts do. It feels like an awkward energy sometimes. Does anyone else feel that? Also, even though I agree with her politics, Vero often comes across like a know-it-all and I find it grating but I think it might just be my association with activists that use the word “right” after everything they say.
