Ep 84: Gut Health and Eczema with Dr Melissa of Your Journey to Healing

Ep 84: Gut Health and Eczema with Dr Melissa of Your Journey to Healing

Today I am speaking with Dr Melissa from Your Journey to Healing where she helps families heal from eczema.  As a mom herself she was tired of seeing her own family struggle with eczema and asthma and was tired of the steroid cycle that they were on.  She dived into the research and began to learn how much gut health plays a roll in skin health and now helps families to heal eczema through gut healing. I hope you enjoy this episode.

-How Dr Melissa decided to help families with eczema and gut health
-The connection of gut health with eczema and other skin issues
-How the gut, skin, and brain are all interconnected
-Foods that may be creating problems
-Where to begin when working to heal the gut
-Other outside factors that could be harming the gut
    -Supporting the family

Each week in our Moms Raising Healthy Humans Community I provide everyone with a weekly task to focus on to help them make small lasting changes for a healthier lifestyle.

The other week I recommended going for a walk after dinner to help with stabilizing blood sugar and gut health.  You can listen to Episode 82 The Importance of Walking after dinner for more information.

but it was discussed how dark it is at this time of year and how it can be difficult to get the kids up and out the door after dinner and if I have other tips to help keep you active.

-We discuss some tried and true games.
    -Some board games
    -fun made up games

Ep 82: The Importance of Walking after Dinner

Ep 82: The Importance of Walking after Dinner

This week we are focusing on going for a walk each evening in our Moms Raising Healthy Humans Community as a family if at all possible.

There are a few reasons why I recommend you try this.
-Last chance to get in some movement as a family
-Help to relax and destress you so that you can get a better night's sleep
-Aids in digestion, by not allowing things to become stagnant
    -Great for the lymphatic system
-Opportunity to catch up with your children
-Walking after eating helps to keep blood sugar stable
