Inside Ezra’s Mission for Curing Cancer Through Early Detection #WellnessWednesdays

For my 40th birthday, I decided to invest in my health by undergoing a full body MRI scan through Ezra, a New York based healthcare AI startup utilizing medical imaging and artificial intelligence to provide individuals with a full body cancer screening service that's fast, accurate, and more affordable than ever.
Ezra is on a mission to create a new standard of preventative care and provide people with necessary knowledge to make decisions about their health. They look at 14 organs to advocate for early cancer detection as part of an annual health care screening.
In today's podcast, I chat with Emi Gal, the CEO and founder of Ezra, Dr. Carol DerSarkissian, who is the medical director, and Dr. Daniel Sodickson, who is the scientific advisor (you can find their full bios at the end of the episode).
We cover Ezra's full body MRI diagnostic process, how MRIs work, the common question regarding false positives, the use of AI and the future of imaging, Ezra's goal to reduce costs, as well as my own test results, and a lot more!
This is not a sponsored podcast, but since early detection is the most effective cure for cancer we currently have, I felt like this technology was important to highlight in podcast form. If you're interested in going through with this type of an investment for your health, you can head to ezra.com/bewell to learn a little bit more about this technology – and use code BEWELLBYKELLY for $150 off.

Ending Alzheimer’s: Your Guide to Brain Health with Dr. Dale Bredesen #WellnessWednesdays

Ending Alzheimer’s: Your Guide to Brain Health with Dr. Dale Bredesen #WellnessWednesdays

We don’t have to fear Alzheimer’s and cognitive decline like generations before us. Thanks to dedicated researchers and doctors like today’s guest, we know why Alzheimer’s happens – and how to prevent it.
Dr. Dale Bredesen received his undergraduate degree from Caltech and his medical degree from Duke University. In 2013, he returned to UCLA as the director of the Easton Center for Alzheimer's Disease Research. The Bredesen Laboratory studies the basic mechanisms underlying the neurodegenerative process and the translation of the knowledge into effective therapies for Alzheimer's disease. He has published over 230 papers and has written two New York Times bestselling books, The End of Alzheimer's: The First Program to Prevent and Reverse Cognitive Decline, and The End Of Alzheimer's Program.
In today's episode, he fills us in on everything he knows about how to protect your brain from this disease, what Alzheimer's is, how we can reverse and prevent it, and blood tests that can indicate our odds of getting it.
Dr. Bredesen is a beacon of hope for so many of us and for families that have been affected by this disease. Knowing that we have the tests to catch early signs of cognitive decline and can harness the power of the Bredesen Protocol to fight inflammation through diet and lifestyle changes in our earlier years means that we can end Alzheimer’s.

How To Cultivate Creativity to Elevate Everything You Do with Jeremy Utley #WellnessWednesdays

Flexing your creativity muscle plays a huge role in wellness that is often overlooked. If you don’t consider yourself a “creative” person, you might be surprised by what today’s guest, innovation expert and Stanford professor Jeremy Utley, has to say about the discipline of imagination and how it can be used to affect your life and the world in a positive way.
Jeremy Utley is one of the world's leading experts in innovation. Over the last 12 years, he served as the Director of Education at Stanford's renowned Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (aka the D School), where his courses have been experienced by nearly a million students worldwide.
Jeremy advises corporate leaders on how to embed the methods and mindsets of design into their organization and works with professionals to cultivate a robust personal creative practice. As the co-host of Stanford's Masters of Creativity, he shines the spotlight on creative practice across disciplinary boundaries.
On top of blogging and podcasting, he's also the general partner at Freespin Capital and co-author of IdeaFlow, which offers a proven strategy for coming up with great ideas by yourself and with your team.
In this conversation, Jeremy shares how to find inspiration, how to know if an idea is “good” through scrappy experimentation, lessons for entrepreneurs from our personal experiences, and how practicing the idea quota can make magic happen.
If you ever shut down your creative thinking or you thought you didn't have it within you, Jeremy's here to show you otherwise.

Aaron_Shaffer ,

My favorite wellness podcast!

I’m often intimidated by wellness conversations, by Kelly does an amazing job of steering the ship away from scary, overwhelming topics and focusing on practical things we can do to improve our lives today. I’m very interested in longevity and biological age reversal, so I especially loved her episode with Dr. Mark Hyman. I would recommend this show to anyone who wants to live a healthier, happier life but is unsure where to begin.
