The Next Generation Doesn’t Need More Technology. They Need Better Adults.

Every generation worries about the one coming up behind it. We hear concerns about phones, social media, artificial intelligence, and attention spans almost daily. But what if we’re asking the wrong question? What if the biggest challenge facing the next generation isn’t technology at all?  In this episode of Randy Unscripted, Randy explores the idea that young people don’t necessarily need better technology—they need better adults. Drawing from years of experience in education and technology, he reflects on the power of influence, mentorship, and personal example. While technology can be a valuable tool, it can never replace the impact of a teacher who cares, a parent who listens, a coach who invests, or a mentor who simply shows up.  In this episode:  Why technology can’t solve every human problem The difference between influence and mentorship Why young people are watching more than they’re listening The lasting impact of consistent adult involvement How ordinary people help shape the future one relationship at a time Technology will continue to evolve, but the need for wisdom, encouragement, accountability, and example never goes away. The future may be shaped less by the next breakthrough and more by the adults who choose to invest in the people coming behind them.  Music by Yurii Semchyshyn from Pixabay. 2. What Did God Leave Out of The Bible?

What Did God Leave Out of The Bible?

What did God leave out of the Bible? That simple question—shared on a note and discussed on an episode of We Get To Do This with Adam Curry and Pastor Jimmy Pruitt—sparked a much deeper conversation. As Christians, we often focus on what we wish Scripture would tell us: what Jesus wrote in the dirt, what Paul’s thorn in the flesh really was, what happened during the silent years of Jesus’ life, and countless other unanswered questions. But what if those omissions weren’t accidental? What if God intentionally chose not to reveal certain things? In this episode of Randy Unscripted, Randy explores the mysteries Scripture leaves unsolved and examines what those omissions teach us about God’s purpose, wisdom, and the sufficiency of His Word. Along the way, he considers why faith sometimes requires us to be comfortable with mystery, why humility matters when interpreting Scripture, and why trusting God’s revelation is more important than satisfying our curiosity. The Bible may not answer every question we can ask, but it provides everything we need to know God, follow Christ, and live faithfully. Music by Yurii Semchyshyn from Pixabay. 3. Start with the Outcome, Not the Tool

Start with the Outcome, Not the Tool

More than a decade ago, I saved a simple educational technology graphic that made a lasting impression on me. In fact, I liked it so much that I contacted its creator, received permission to use it, and even printed it on the back of my business cards. Recently, while scrolling through old photos on my iPhone, I stumbled across that same image. At first glance, it looked like a relic from another era—but the more I studied it, the more I realized its message had never been more relevant. In this episode of Randy Unscripted, we explore why it’s so easy to become captivated by the latest technology while losing sight of the reason we wanted it in the first place. From educational technology and artificial intelligence to business, ministry, parenting, and podcasting, this conversation goes far beyond the classroom to examine a timeless principle for making better decisions: Start with the outcome, not the tool. Along the way, I’ll share why yesterday’s “revolutionary” technologies have become today’s nostalgia, why our purpose should outlast every platform we adopt, and three simple questions that can help you evaluate not only the next piece of technology, but almost every important decision you’ll make. Sometimes the most important lesson isn’t found in the newest technology—it’s found in remembering why we picked it up in the first place.  Music by Yurii Semchyshyn from Pixabay.
