The fastest way to start a fight online about Reiki is to ask a simple question and watch as answers turn into attack. Ready Set Reiki hope is for a calmer, smarter path, one where we can respect all systems all images and all schools of Reiki . Ready Set reiki invited two true way showers; Bronwen Logan of Reiki With Bronwen and Mary Riposo of Infinite Light Center. Together, we name what is actually happening beneath the noise: widespread Reiki misconceptions, fuzzy definitions, and an “identity crisis” that shows up when people confuse Reiki the practice with “Reiki the energy,” or when they treat a Reiki session like something a practitioner does to you instead of a practice you share and embody. We also dig into why Reiki history matters right now. Bronwyn explains why new primary source material, including a handwritten 1904 CV from Mikao Usui, is so exciting and so stabilizing. When fresh evidence appears, it can confirm parts of the story, challenge other parts, and push us to teach with more care. That is not trivia, it is ethics. If we want Reiki training to be credible and clear, we cannot keep repeating claims that misrepresent the system or inflate it into something medical. Staying relevant is part of staying honest. Then we bring it into the modern world: distance Reiki, online Reiki classes, and what real access looks like. Mary shares why her entire practice is remote now, why live teaching on Zoom can be deeply supportive, and how it can serve students who cannot travel or who need safety and privacy. We close by asking a grounded question: if Usui were here today, would he be disgusted or would he hand us the precepts and ask us to practice them. Bronwen Logan, also known as Bronwen Stiene, is an educator in the Japanese art of Reiki, as well as a writer, an animal lover, a thinker, a podcaster, a feminist, and a catalyst for spiritual and personal empowerment. Her online courses include regular weekly, bi-weekly and monthly classes for students of her Reiki world, Reiki with Bronwen. Mary Riposo Mary is a Reiki Master practitioner, teacher, author, and coach who found Reiki after suffering from a number of mystery illnesses that didn’t respond to Western medicine. She had such a positive response that she decided to learn Reiki herself and share it with others. Mary ran Infinite Light Center with her husband, Tony, from 2013 to 2021, where she directed the Reiki Program. After the physical location closed in 2021, Mary began practicing exclusively online, offering sessions, workshops, mentoring & classes in all levels of Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki and ICRT Animal Reiki.
