Matthew 4:1-4

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most significant event in history. It meets our deepest need, provides us with meaning, comfort, and hope, and points forward to what God will do one day when He brings new life to the whole earth.

Palm Sunday is the celebration of Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem. In the triumphal entry, Jesus arrives in Jerusalem as a king. Every action is laden with symbolism and echos of Old Testament passages. However, Jesus also chooses to exercise His authority in the way that kings did in the past. Instead of killing His enemies, He goes to a cross on their behalf, for their salvation.

The letters of John provide a remarkable description of the Christian life, which is grounded in relationship with God, and overflows in relationships with other Christians. This kind of fellowship, or communion, is only possible through Jesus Christ, and is an essential part of the Christian life.
