Welcome back, rediscover fam! Last month we worked through a lot of emotions, and now as we spring into April we have a joy-filled episode to share with you all.
First and foremost, we have a major wedding update - Kristen said yes to her dream wedding dress! 👰🏻‍♀️ She is going to tell us the full story and some lessons learned during the process. Also, in true rediscover fashion, she will mythbust what wedding dress shopping is really like vs. what we see on TV, as well as share some helpful, tangible wedding dress shopping tips that you can take into your own experience.
Additionally, as far as our world traveler goes, Jess is feeling rejuvenated and excited to share about this next portion of Nomad Life Phase 2 - Morocco, Egypt, and Kenya. These destinations are incredibly unique, and with so much newness comes an incredible amount of growth! So we're excited to dive into cultural differences and personal reflections from this chapter of the journey.

hey, rediscover fam. 
this month's episode is a little different from our more recent ones. in our own ways, we've both been feeling a little vulnerable, a little refelctive, a little...low. so, in the spirit of staying true to our pillar of authenticity, we're pulling back the curtain and sharing some of the more challenging mindsets we've been trying to shift recently, and the internal battles that we've each struggled to overcome.
 
this episode might have a less vibrant feel than usual, and our tone might be more subdued, but this conversation is one of the most real, raw, and honest ones we've ever had on the show. we'll discuss:
the self-care industry and the innumerable marketing schemes that try to sell us a "better" life than the one we're living now how being a chronic "fixer" can cause us to create problems where there were none the pressures and expectations of having a social media presence, and how living life online can blur boundaries and breed unrealistic expectations societal expectations and how major life milestones can cause a tidal wave of unsolicited opinions why we feel guilty for having bad days when we're supposed to be happy  & more! if you're in the midst of a challenging season, a significant life change, or you're just working on abandoning old minsets for new and more supportive ones, we hope this episode provides a little wisdom, a bit of solidarity, and a place to begin. we love you all, thanks for listening!

The engagement happened less than 48 hours before recording this episode, so we had the very special opportunity to record Kristen's live reaction to finding out the news. This is such a cherished memory and milestone in our journeys, and we're so glad you're all here with us as it unfolds.

Happy New Year, rediscover fam! Instead of sprinting into 2024, we're easing into the marathon of a brand new year with new perspectives, mindset shifts, and realizations that we can turn into lasting resolutions. Instead of cultivating unrealistic goals and expectations, we're exploring the small changes that have the potential to create big, impactful ripples in our lives this year, and dismantling the societal idealization of New Years resolutions that can leave us feeling burnt out, drained, and uninspired. We hope that some of our intentions for the year ahead will inspire you, and that you'll come along with us as we lean (gently) into a new year of rediscovering our most authentic selves, together. Welcome back to rediscover, fam! This month's episode covers a full spectrum of topics, from fun and exciting life updates and travel plans to an in-depth examination of how to abandon societal norms, expectations, and timelines for a life filled with happiness and contentment in the here and now. 
On the fun and exciting end of the spectrum, we're chatting about the highly anticipated release of 1989 (Taylor's Version)!!! We're taking it back to the 1989 era and the album's initial relase in 2014, reminiscing and rediscovering where we were and what was going on in our lives at the time. It's incredible how much that album shaped our experiences by simply playing in the background of our lives almost a decade ago, and the milestones moments that will forever be tied to those songs.
And speaking of milestone moments, Jess and Steven are about to embark on PHASE 2 of nomad life, and you won't BELIEVE where their world travel adventures are taking them next! As always, Jess has insight, inspiration, tips and advice to share as they get ready to head back out into the great wide somewhere. It's going to be pure magic, so don't miss it!
As we plunge deeper into our conversation and round out the episode, we're examining closely the words and language we use to describe our circumstances, and how shifting our perspectives and diminishing both negativity and systemic fear can help us to find joy and fulfillment in every season. We're learning how to block out the "shoulds," pave our own path, and remind ourselves that no matter where we are on our journey, we're exactly where we're meant to be. 
That's something to contemplate as the holiday season approaches, and we hope that our experiences and all that we've learned and discovered (or rediscovered) about ourselves will help you to embody your fullest, most authentic self in every context that you find yourself in.
