Movie nerd, filmmaker, and anniversary celebrator Mark J. Parker brings a friend on each episode to discuss movies (and sometimes TV shows and music) that are hitting milestone anniversaries of release that month. Think 20th anniversary, 25th, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th, 70th, 75th, you get it! They'll dive in together, discussing fun facts, memorable moments, and what makes these movies worth a rewind all these years later. Let's get nostalgic!     The Brady Bunch Movie (30th anniversary)

    Put on your Sunday best, kids! We're going to Sears! (Are they even still around?) Mark celebrates the 30th anniversary of the hilarious, subversive, and wholesome-ish spoof The Brady Bunch Movie with his Brady brothers Tom Ciuba and Jason Kashiwagi. Who's the Jan, who's the Carol, and who's Marcia Marcia Marcia in this trio? Listen to find out as they relive favorite moments from when the 90s clashed perfectly with the 70s.

    The Breakfast Club (40th anniversary)

    This episode is serving Brat (Pack)! Movie expert and longtime friend Jackie Renne returns to go back to high school with Mark and celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic "rite of passage" film The Breakfast Club from writer, director, and producer John Hughes. Detention never looked this fun or this dramatic! Mark and Jackie had study hall together 20 years ago, but never had detention together, although Jackie explains how she talked her way out of a Saturday like a pro! Plus, they talk about the movie's silly ending (girls, you can do better!) and imagine where the brain, athlete, basket case, princess, and criminal would end up if we ever got a sequel. Plus, fellow 1985 movie Witness gets some love!

    Before Sunrise (30th anniversary)

    What the world needs now is love... sweet international love! For the first time on this show, Mark welcomes a guest from another country: it's Bulgarian artist, movie nerd, and hunk Todor Iliev (@ilievillustration)! They go on a little virtual stroll through mid-90s Vienna to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Richard Linklater's memorable romance Before Sunrise, which kickstarted a beautiful trilogy starring the dynamic duo Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. "Don't forget: you are stardust!" Plus, Todor explains how he makes his great designs, and highly recommends traveling to another country solo.

    Girl, Interrupted (25th anniversary)

    When you're alone, and life is making you lonely, you can always go... to Release Date Rewind! Mark welcomes film fan Rudy Valdez from the west coast on the show to take a trip to Claymoore Psychiatric Hospital and celebrate the 25th anniversary of Girl, Interrupted. Move over, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest guys, it's the girls' turn! Mark and Rudy rave about this powerful cast (great job, casting director Lisa Beach!), Angelina's microbangs and weird Oscar win, Whoopi's side eye, shaggy Jared Leto, and Brittany Murphy's chicken addiction.

    Little Women (30th anniversary)

    Here we come a-wassailing and here's a new episode to warm you up! For only the second time in this podcast's history, three guests join Mark for a special discussion, and these guests are practically family! Mark's sisters from other misters - Sarah Menaquale, Kit Sheehan, and Melissa Ward - are here to celebrate the classic Louisa May Alcott story Little Women and its great 1994 film adaption from Gillian Armstrong for its 30th anniversary. They mourn the death of Beth, praise the Thomas Newman score, and will never forgive Amy for burning Jo's manuscript. Plus, they compare the 1994 vs. 2019 Greta Gerwig versions and ask which Laurie do you prefer: Christian Bale or Timothée Chalamet?     Black Christmas (50th anniversary)

    Keep the Christmas festivities going by playing this episode! If horror fandom is like a sorority, Mark and his returning guest Jeff Bugajski would be the presidents, or treasurers, or housemothers, like boozy Mrs. Mac! It's the 50th anniversary of the super creepy and super influential 1974 slasher Black Christmas, directed by Bob Clark before he directed A Christmas Story (he really knew how to make iconic holiday movies!). Although this movie might be less talked about than other horror films, Mark and Jeff agree that it's their life mission to spread the good word. Plus, they share stories about meeting Margot Kidder and Andrea Martin!

    Fight Club (25th anniversary)

    Show us your Pitts - again! Put your fists in the air because this is Part 2 of "Pitt Fest" celebrating two Brad Pitt movies based on books that hit milestone anniversaries this year. Mark welcomes Brad stan OT Garcia back on the show to break the number 1 rule of Fight Club and discuss the “defining cult movie of our time” for its 25th anniversary. From David Fincher's memorable aesthetic and Tyler Durden's gigolo fashion, to Helena Bonham Carter's scene-stealing smoking and all the sweaty muscles on display, this movie left a mark on many of us (including Mark's high school art teacher). Plus, OT compares the existentialism in the dialogue to another 1999 hit: The Matrix!

    Interview with the Vampire (30th anniversary)

    Show us your Pitts! Brad Pitt starred in two films based on books that are celebrating milestone anniversaries this year, so "Pitt Fest" starts with a movie you can really sink your teeth into! Mark welcomes mistress of the dark Sabrina Santoro back on the show to discuss the November chiller Interview with the Vampire from Anne Rice and Neil Jordan for its 30th anniversary. This successful moody drama has Brad with long hair, Tom Cruise with blonde hair, and little Kirsten Dunst in tight curls making her breakthrough performance. And Cher was almost going to be in it?! We support gay vampires!
