I went to the same church (southern Baptist-yeah yikes right, I’ve got so many stories) for all of my life til I was about 22 and then it fell apart. Since it fell apart and I’ve taken a step back I’ve learned and grown so much about SO many topics that I never even cared to learn about because of my religious background. This podcast has already made me feel like I’m not alone and has opened my eyes to make me think about things in a different way than I ever could before. I am so here for this, and I can’t wait to continue to listen!

I loved listening to episode 1 at work. I felt so at home and apart of the family that Brandon and Chelsea created. Thank you for creating this and I’m on the edge of my seat for episode 2!!

Since 2020, I’ve had many doubts and questions about my faith regarding the church’s certain beliefs such as Christian nationalism and it’s obsession for political control. It’s awful history of bigotry toward certain people (indigenous, African American, Muslims, LGBTQ+ community, etc.) also scared me away. I left the church and remained spiritually distant. I lost my identity and religion after I was aware of these issues like I was never awake. My faith felt inorganic and fake; like it was already made for me and shoved down in my throat and I was expected to accept it as reality. I mainly attended church out of expectation and peer pressure just to fit in or avoid the fear of being an outcast and independent thinker. During my college experience, my faith may of been deconstructed until I encountered a safe space of counselors in and out of campus that have encouraged me to reconstruct my faith through my own way rather than my family or the church’s traditional way, with this podcast as one as a source of counsel. I feel welcome, loved, safe, fearless and not alone at all every second I hear Brandon and Chelsea talk. I’m blessed by God to be apart of this virtual community. Recommend it for anybody who feels outcasted by religion as I do 👍🏻👍🏻. It’s a blast!
