    Picking fights with online gurus

Picking fights with online gurus Remote This is a podcast specifically for Nomadic Entrepreneurs. We are Remotely Powered and Relationship Driven. We’re Jon with BelmarkMedia, Joel with BAM Create, and Britton with iEvolve Media. We're process-driven as business owners. It results in better client relations and strategies. Disclaimer: We are not here to bash or belittle the efforts of these individuals. We are also not saying that you won’t find some-type of success by following the instructions/courses of these individuals. We are hoping that you will do your due diligence to discover if these influencers are a good fit for you & the direction that you have chosen to walk. This conversation is about alignment and helping you make an informed decision. The three of us may have different points of view when it comes to this topic which we believe will give you a holistic approach to the subject matter. The reality is that not all of what these influencers say is bad, and it’s our job as the consumer to sift through to find the nuggets that will help us on our own success journey. Obviously this is a controversial topic and again we aren’t here to bash these influencers, gurus, or whatever they call themselves to their community. We also want to address the realities of running a business & have a discussion on what it’s like for us and entrepreneurs who choose to live this way. So here are our thoughts on how to avoid investing in the wrong path: 1. Don’t be mislead by marketing hype. 2. Do your due diligence! 3. There are no shortcuts to success. The 3 tactics they will most likely use are scarcity, urgency, and reciprocity. These are great if used correctly, but very very manipulative if used in a different intention. Scarcity: Good - I can only help so many people. I only have so much time. I know I can’t help everyone so I use price to help thin the crowd. The reality is I can only invest effectively into a small number of clients each year, so I only want to commit to what I can handle. Bad - We have a limited number of spots, don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity. This is intended to trigger FOMO. The reality is that it’s a webinar replay or virtual event… which can host a bunch of people quite easily. Urgency: Good: I am only in town for 3 days and so if you want to meet up, book a spot now… I have 3 spots available tomorrow afternoon. Bad: We only have this for the next 24 hrs… after that, it’s gone forever. The reality is that if this was true, they wouldn’t have a product to push. I have also heard “Back by popular demand because you wanted it…” I will let you decide if they are genuine, but most of the time they are full of it. Reciprocity: Good - Download 3 ways to help your marketing automation for free. Just enter your email. Exchanging one value for another… typically referred to as a lead magnet for lead generation. Bad -  I want to invite you to this absolutely free real estate event that will show you the path to success and happiness like these other people who followed my advice. Closing Thoughts: Be careful who we listen to. Be careful about receiving or giving blanket statements. Make sure you’re aligned with the direction and willing to put in the discipline and sacrifice.

Innovative ideas for remote businesses with James Carpenter

James Carpenter is an entrepreneur making a difference in the business landscape of Alberta.    He happens to be Britton’s brother-in-law, and he’s wicked smart. He has some great insight to share with remote business owners about ideas they can learn from during COVID-19.     Remote This is a podcast specifically for Nomadic Entrepreneurs. We are Remotely Powered and Relationship Driven.   We’re Joel with BAM Create, Jon with BelmarkMedia and Britton with iEvolve Media. We're process-driven as business owners. It results in better client relations and strategies. We’re open to free consultation calls now. Reach out at BamCreate.ca, Belmarkmedia.com or ievolve.media. We continue to do this monthly. We look forward to walking this journey with you. This is educational, as well as entertainment. If you don't agree, let us know why. Leave a review wherever you picked up this beautiful podcast. We’re Joel with BAM Create, Jon with Belmark Media and Britton with iEvolve Media. Quotes -  “You don't have to have inside information, but you have to have a game plan.” - James Carpenter “Anticipate change. Plan for it and embrace it.” - James Carpenter “Don't run from your dad's my friends run to your debtors. They'll be shocked. They will be shocked and you might find that they have great mercy on you because most people will run from their debtors.” - James Carpenter “If you owe money, don't run from your debt run to your debtor, to make peace. Run to your debtor to make arrangements, because when the smoke clears and the dust settles, there's going to be a vibrant economy in Alberta. There will be casualties, but we're going to need you guys to help pick up the casualties and get them to the hospital and help them to get the help they need.” - James Carpenter “We were built on small business before the oil boom. Now a lot of our small business is connected with the oil boom, and maybe our small business sector has to shrink to compensate with the shrink in the oil patch. But the rebuild in Alberta, I believe, is going to come from rural Alberta, and from small business.” - James Carpenter “And now is the time because the banks have frozen your mortgage payment. The government is handing out money like candy. By the way, you're gonna have to pay it back. Surprise. And it's like the world has paused to let us catch up.” - James Carpenter  “It's a time to step up. It's a time to step out. It's a time to rebuild your relationships. It's a time to move forward, get out of your pity puddle, get out of your fear, and get moving. Get it into action.” - James Carpenter

The government isn’t going to bail out your business

Here we are in the midst of COVID-19 taking a toll on the health and economics of our world. We are three small business owners who work remotely anyway, now forced to take our monthly podcast ritual remote as well. We’re all recording from home to respect physical distancing. It’s time to stop thinking we’ll get a bail out. This time is changing how we do business. We have to shift.  For those of you who have lost love ones or the ones that are fighting for their lives due to this Covid-19 pandemic. Our hearts and prayers go out to you during this difficult time. Remote This is a podcast for Nomadic Entrepreneurs. We are Remotely Powered and Relationship Driven. Like you, we have had both successes and failures in business, and dealt with our own plateaus. With that experience we help empower service-based, relationship-driven companies, to work remotely and live a life others only dream of. We discuss topics on a monthly basis.  We deal with the root of the problem and related issues, which will help remote businesses overcome bottlenecks and the challenges of running a nomadic company. We’re Joel with https://bamcreate.ca/, Jon with https://www.belmarkmedia.com/ and Britton with https://ievolve.media/. We're process-driven as business owners. It results in better client relations and strategies. Discussion point 1: Joel’s three ideas for aligning your business’ brand message and audience at this time. 1. You have a lot more people engaging now on social media and it's less expensive to get engagement in ads. Now you have an audience and more bang for your buck
. 2. Engage on social media at least once a day with other people that align with your business. Don’t try to sell them anything, just try to build a connection.
 3. Create a product/service/course that you can use to help others genuinely in this COVID-19 chaos. I wouldn’t necessarily give it away, but make it extremely affordable. If you can modify an existing asset that you already have, that won’t create bottlenecks. We all have to eat.  Discussion point 2: Jon’s three ideas for automation to help businesses right now. Make sure you come out the other side better than how you went in.  Sharpen your skills, start a podcast/youtube channel/blog/vlog. Write a book.  Add another revenue streamTake advantage of all the virtual meetings and networking groups10 speeches  Discussion point 3: Britton’s three ideas to help businesses right now. Now that you have your foundational audience and message set. Get a camera and a mic. Smartphone to start.Script, preplan and film your own content (Testimonial or your best advice). Do interviews. Find your niche idea and medium by doing.Turn it into video, audio, image and written content. COVID-19- A time to be selfless, not self-preserve

Today we were going to talk about It's OK to Lose. Losses are the reality, it's not about just always winning and hustling.  But, then COVID-19 happened. This has not only affected local businesses, but global commerce in general. We don’t really know how long this will last, but we do know that it isn’t going to be easy either. So, many people have been laid off and we all are affected by COVID-19 directly or indirectly. First off, for those of you who have lost love ones, or for the ones who are fighting for their lives due to this COVID-19 pandemic, our hearts and prayers go out for you during this difficult time. This pandemic has affected everyone in some way shape or form and we want to discuss how creatively we can help your business stay afloat during this uncertain time. We are stronger together.  Remote This is a podcast specifically for Nomadic Entrepreneurs. We are Remotely Powered and Relationship Driven.
