This time, I tackled a listener request: #ShutterIsland. Man, what a ride this film is. You can’t predict the ending—it keeps you wrapped in mystery and never lets you read ahead. At the same time, it sprinkles in just enough hints and misleads so you never get bored. Twist-ending movies always feel like a gamble, but this one totally sticks the landing. And on a rewatch, it opens up even more layers. Of course, Leonardo DiCaprio’s performance is absolutely stellar. But here’s the kicker—me, Mako, I was so sleep-deprived I could barely keep it together. I ended up spinning some new theories in a half-dream state… Did they even make sense to you? I guess I’ll find out when I listen back myself.
