    This season of Research Time is aimed at holding conversational spaces with consenting Métis scholars and thinkers who contributed to this special issue about their attendance at Mawachihitotaak - Métis Studies Conference in Pawaatamihk: Journal of Métis Thinkers, who wish to speak more deeply about their publications, and I want to hear more about their attendance at Mawachihitotaak - Métis Studies Conference. This is the first conversation with Benjamin Beauchemin, discussing his scholarly paper, "Reconsidering L'Espace de Louis Goulet."     Article: “Queer breaches and normative devices: Language learners queering gender, sexuality, and the L2 classroom” by Drs. Ashley Moore, James Coda, Julia Siegelman, and Melisa Cahnmann-Taylor. This work was published almost a year ago, in January 2024.  Robert and EducateTheEarth discuss the importance of queering educational pedagogies and practices for all learners in a classroom. From their discussion, they acknowledge the importance of having fun by exploring your own pedagogies and practices and that educators can be fluid, evolving, and flexible. Robert and EducateTheEarth also note the brilliance of appreciating that students can be your co-learners/co-conspirators and have so much to offer to support your teaching, so long as you're open-minded!     I am thrilled that this episode will be a form of podcast essay, where I will be reading my first published article as a Métis educational scholar called, Literary and Indigenous Métissage: Autobiographical Reflections as a first-year Métis PhD graduate. Sen Murray Sinclair: Alberta's leaked curriculum plan around Residential Schools would be a 'terrible mistake'.  Nikkole and EducateTheEarth discuss the narratives that must be shared from the experiences of survivors and families affected by the Residential Schooling System in relation to curriculum. We also discuss connecting to traditions in school, honouring our Elders, lessons that can be used in relation to this work, resources, connections to community, relational building, and most importantly, our support for all educators being able to do this work.
